The MMA thread

Was a good season. IMO Saul would have won the finale whoever he went up against, just too good of an all around fighter. Shame he got pulled really. Artem/Hall could go either way, Hall has the heel hook trick which is a ridiculously dangerous weapon to have in your locker.

Going with Namajunas in the main event tonight. Expecting a quick brutal finish or an absolute war, ridiculous fight to predict, could easily go either way but it's a massive fight for both despite both being young.

So disappointed. Saul looked really good and could have been a big star from England, which UFC doesn't have many of. Now I'm definitely supporting Artem and Hall doesn't even deserve to be there.

The argentinian Pontinibio next! hopefully he has worked hard since his last fight.

for tonight im going with VanZant, Chiesa, Northcutt... not sure about Theodorou vs Santos, but im inclining for the canadian

That was a nice sub from former boxer Danny Roberts. Always good to see the upcoming British fighters doing well. Just found out about Saul Rogers though, that's a real shame as he looked very promising on the show. Hopefully he still gets signed and we see him on the Euro cards.

Fight happened 2 years ago, bad decision by the judges though (Im just glad to see Julian Erosa Ko'd, that guy wound me up)

How the hell is this Sterling - Eduardo fight stuck on the prelims of this card? That's so weird. It should be at least co-main if not main of this card. Undefeated prospect at #5 vs #10 in the division.

haven't watched that fight... interesting. Where the feck are they fighting? looks like a illegal ring where millionaires bet for whose gonna die.

Juicy J Erosa fights tomorrow, so i hope Saul gets the chance to keep fighting aswell. He showed he deserve it so im positive we'll see him next europe event.

Almeida, Assuncao, Sterling and Faber although he is fading are still very talented IMO and not far behind.

Dodson moving back up too, already beat TJ before. Bantamweight is shaping up quite nicely right now.

edit: Ouch that eye poke slo-mo replay almost made me puke.

Dodson as well you're right. Looking very good, a few different styles as well.

That eye poke was a bad one, hopefully there's no retinal damage.

It says Bolton in the video description which looks like some charity event, I hope so too and UFC dont take it personal about ruining the finale etc. I dont think Ryan Hall should of been given the fight, Uriajah Faber is on Mcgregors undercard, they could of crowned Artem the winner and had him fight Faber in his first fight. Thats what I would have done.

I really feel Rose is going to make light work of Paige tonight. The girl looks super focused right now. I hope so anyway as I'm a big fan of her.

Paige is vicious though, and tough as nails. Gonna be awesome fight, but i think Paige wins it.

here we go main card!

great start from Theoud......

Meh.. that stand up really soured the fight for me. Good for Sage though, forced him to face a little adversity at least.

Good finish, was the most likely outcome but that stand up was poor. Will obviously get tougher opposition so will see how he fares in the next few fights.

Credit to Pfister. He went out 100% fresh and focused on take the fight to the ground from the first second. Not many fighters could have resisted that against a good wrestler like Pfister in my opinion. He wasn't given time not space to warm up his arms or legs. But well' see... time to time. So far so good for him. Adapted and counter Pfister tactics. Mentally and physically strong. Hope to see more of him soon.

Miller vs Chiesa next! this one gonna be bloodbath hopefully.

ps Urijah Faber xd Good man.

The biggest question over Rose is her cardio so I could see her slowing dramatically towards the later rounds if she doesn't get the finish. Paige has great cardio but taking a beating can change that fast.

Could see this potentially descending to a sloppy clinch fest unfortunately.

God damn, Paige looks like something out of a horror movie right now. Great heart though, she really is a fighter to her credit.
