Rhonda is still a huge star in America. The box office the rematch will generate will be a close second to McGregor v Aldo IMOProbably.
Hopefully not very soon, though.

If you watch the post match interview again you can see Dana over her left shoulder looking like a broken man!Better for fans of MMA.
Not better for Dana's wallet, nothing like a true one of a kind rockstar(which Rousey now is not) to sell tickets and hype, etc.
He'll be praying for McGregor to beat Aldo now.
Yeah, but too soon and it's be the same fight as tonight. Rousey needs time to calm her ass down, go back to the drawing board and heavily train back in grappling and countering boxers with grapples. Get back to what she's good at, and start fighting with her brains again.Rhonda is still a huge star in America. The box office the rematch will generate will be a close second to McGregor v Aldo IMO
Just saw someone snap his golden goose's neck, probably be crying into a bottle of something strong later tonight. If you watch the post match interview again you can see Dana over her left shoulder looking like a broken man!
Never bought the hype. She was only beating what was in front of her and what was in front of her was nothing special.
Finally I've seen somebody not rush into Rhonda armed with weak punches or walk straight into a hip toss and tap... And it was beautiful.
Why would Rhonda rush a skilled kickboxer and 3 weight world boxing champion? It's 5 rounds. Minimise the stand up and sooner of later she will get her Into position to grapple. She was outclassed in the first round and yet had 2 golden oppertunities to get it done, imagine if she had a proper gameplan.
If I was close to Katie Taylor I would have had her down the gym developing a decent level of kickboxing herself. The money to be made from such a weak roster is mindblowing
Doesnt even look like she took Holm seriously....wonder how hard she actually trained for this fight between film roles.
She definitely trained properly for it, can't see her slacking in that regard. She just underestimated her in the fight itself.Doesnt even look like she took Holm seriously....wonder how hard she actually trained for this fight between film roles.
If Ronda can recover mentally and is honest with herself, she's gonna realize what a giant moron she was. Her boxing is absolutely horrifically bad. Her Judo is world class. Ronda trying to be Mike Tyson and strike is only going to work against bad girls she can overwhelm. Ronda getting back to Judo and working for the clinch and ground game is still a monster for anyone.
If she can recover mentally, and there is no guarantee she will, I'd guess she makes short work of Holm in a rematch if she can get the take down. Just straight to clinch, and take down and then Ronda does what Ronda does.
Ronda got lit up so hard and fast in this fight, I was shocked Holm didn't finish it in the first round. She had Ronda badly, badly hurt as soon as the fight pace settled down from Ronda running around like an angry bull. It wouldn't shock me in the least if Ronda was totally fecking out of it from about 3 or 4 minutes in.
Holm hit her with a series of straight lefts right up main street, like 3 or 4 in a row, and the FIRST had Ronda badly hurt.
It was beautiful. A composed and calm professional rightfully respecting and fearing her opponents strength absolutely crushing a delusional media darling who was absolutely ignoring her strengths and disrespecting the strengths of her opponent.
Also overestimated herself, standing up at least, by a wide margin. She definitely trained properly for it, can't see her slacking in that regard. She just underestimated her in the fight itself.
Yeah, this did look to be the case. She was swinging wildly a few times and got hit once or twice because of it.Her boxing was improving, but was way overhyped, her and everyone in her camp bough into it.
Good chance she was rattled enough in the first minutes that the rest of the fight she wasn't thinking straight too(not that she was before the fight started), fighting after a few string clatters is something new to her.
Yeah, definitely. Her defence was even weak in the last fight, imo. For all of the 30 seconds it lasted! Also overestimated herself, standing up at least, by a wide margin.
So bad coaching, bad gameplan? Failure to prepare for things not going her way?
I remember people saying it on here last fight, how bad her defence was. Bethe just wasn't good enough to exploit it like what happened tonight.Yeah, definitely. Her defence was even weak in the last fight, imo. For all of the 30 seconds it lasted!
Bad coaching, bad gameplan, massive arrogance, little sense. So bad coaching, bad gameplan? Failure to prepare for things not going her way?
They did get into a bit of a scuffle at the weight ins. So probably thats the reason. What was the deal with Ronda not touching gloves at the beginning?
First 10 or so fights, she'd casually walk over, turn her opponent upside down and break their arm, last 4 or so, casually walk over, punch them in the head once or twice, and they'd fall over and possibly die.First time I've seen this Ronda one fight....I assume she's usually better
Imagine UFC 200:
McG vs Aldo rematch
Ronda vs Holm rematch
Never been so glad to see a hype train come crashing to a halt. Hopefully she learns a bit of humility and someone now teaches her how to box.
Rogan seems as deluded as ever though. Already calling it "the greatest upset in sports combat history". Let that sink in for a second. Not even just mma but the entire history of sports combat.
