The MMA thread

So freaking annoying that the Namajunas fight is off because Ansaroff get's the bloody flu. Annoying how many injuries there has been for this card.

I have a bad feeling I'm not going to make it to the main card, Hall and Natal nearly putting me to sleep. How does somebody with Uriah's technique and power manage to be so boring? Too many stinkers from him....

He would be more successful at light heavy weight imo. Middleweight may be a bit much for him to diet down to.
I know what you mean. There's certain guys that seem more comfortable fighting with a bit of a belly. Fedor comes to mind. But common sense says they'd be better off fighting at a lower weight class in better shape.

Just put $250 on Cormier to win. Really can't see Johnson beating him. Cormier won't be taken down by him, and he's never been knocked out either.

These shots from Pitbull to Browne. browne still standing though. Damn

Edit: He just fell but still got up. Woah! Browne hurt but a big shot. Holy feck!

What a fight. They both got tagged big. Amazing exciting stuff there.

Not sure if his jaw was broken, but he sure did take a shit lot of blows to the jaw area

Not sure other fighters would have quit like that though

AJ will knock him out, I've just decided this

My predictions have not been good but I've got a feeling about this

DC calling out Jones after saying that's the one thing he wouldn't do. Jones will come back and make him cry again.

Great card tonight, Arlovski and Brown was mental. 2 bonuses coming Arlovski's way I think. The title fights show how important wrestling is in the game compared to other aspects.

What a great card! I wanted Rumble to win. I really hopes Jones comes back and destroys D.C now. What an idiot.

what a card! well worth the PPV (for those who paid)

So many good fights.

Really happy for DC, but bit disappointed with him acting like a douch.

Completely disagree that Johnson was unlucky he didn't face Jones. I'm not saying he would have beaten Jones, but Jones is the type of guy who is confident enough to actually make it his main aim to stand with him and that would have given Johnson more of a chance in the area he's most dangerous. Cormier's aim was always going to be to come in and suffocate Johnson with his wrestling, grinding him up against the cage and down on the mat. Jones might have torn through Johnson for all we know but I still think it makes a much more interesting match up on paper.

Hall continues to disappoint. Shows potential but isn't following through on it at all.

Decent test for Dodson on his return. Hope he get's that title rematch soon but will need to step up his performance big time.

Arlovski/Browne was crazy, just one round of absolute madness.

And seeing Weidman destroy Belfort was actually quite nice. Weidman/Rockhold is going to be an incredible fight.

Not an incredible card next weekend but good to see Condit return after being out for over a year with the knee injury. Just over a month to go until Aldo/McGregor as well

The two better fighters won the last two fights. That said, both of them could've just easily been finished by their opponents in round one.

I don't think DC and Weidman will be as successful against Gustafsson and Rockhold.

Only getting out of bed now, thought it was a brilliant night! Cormier won me a bit of money so that helped, but there was some very entertaining fights on the main card. Also the trailer for 189 was cool.

Nah, Weidman would beat a clean Belfort every single time even if they fought 100 times. No shame in that though...

Rockhold will definitely be a tougher opponent, but Weidman is still clear favourite for me.
