Fantastic by Cruz, but surely the ref should have stopped that a few punches earlier than he did.

Full credit to Cruz. It's been 3 years since his last fight and he comes out and does that! Can't wait until he fights Faber!

It'll be TJ he wants next, not Faber.

I would expect him to beat TJ and then a big title fight against Faber in the future

Fantastic first round. Nunes will win the round but she almost fecked up and let Cat back into the fight.

Surely McGregor got a bit lucky with that in fairness? Seemed a highly unusual knockout. Shame the fight couldn't have gone on longer really.

I would guess because it hit him right behind the ear, which was his own fault really as he ducked down.

Anyway, McGregor looked great for all of the short fight! I like how he never needs time to find his range or settle down, always ready to go as soon as the bell rings.

Mcgregor has now officlally beaten a top contender and there are still doubts from what I'm reading on Twitter and mma websites

I'm not sure what else he needs to do. He was seriously tested on the holloway fight when he had a bad leg injury in round 2 and 3. And Conor dominated him on the ground. The other 3 fights are 1st round finishes.

If Aldo or Mendes get injured he should be right in there for either the title or the interim title

The top of the Flyweight division is by quite a distance the most unexciting in the UFC. The only guy I want to see put in there with Johnson is Dodson again who I feel actually poses a legit thread.

Awesome to see Zingano back and getting the win. Could see how she's been through hell and back, brilliant to see her bounce back from a tough first round and then completely dominate. Can't wait for Zingano/Rousey.

Cruz looked an absolute beast, would love to see him take down TJ and co. Cerrone was lethal after losing the first round and McGregor got the win. Great main card.

The blow that put Poirier on the ground looked ok, he ducked into it. But that first hammer fist when he's on the ground is potentially illegal, hard to tell if it's on the side enough from that angle.

Not sure if one illegal blow means a DQ or anything like that, though.

That was a great event. McGregor, Johnson and Cruz were all brilliant, and I was delighted to see Romero actually fight to his potential and batter Kennedy, even with the shenanigans between rounds. The women's fight was probably the best I've seen too.

You can sort of see why his last couple of fights have triggered conspiracy theories. Both finishes involved an opponent going down like a sack of shit after, at best, a glancing blow. Realistically, I think he's one of those fighters who has such heavy hands he can knock people out when he barely clips them. However, it can look a little suspect when you take into account all the stuff about him being "Dana's favourite"

Hopefully his next finish leaves no room for any doubt. He's a class fighter and it's annoying the way his achievements don't seem to be getting the credit they deserve.

It's all about where Poirier got hit for me, reminded me a bit of when Khan got knocked down against Garcia. He took it behind the ear/neck and it completely disorientated him. The first hammer fist after the initial punch was to the back of the head, but he was aiming at a moving target and then he put him away with a couple to the chin. Reminds me a lot of Anderson Silva in the way he leaves openings for opponents to get at him just so he can counter with a better punch or kick. He is exciting and keeps fans interested in him, potential superstar.

Brandao wasn't hit with a "glancing" blow, it was straight on the chin.

Anyway, McGregor fighting on the Mexico UFC 180 card on Nov.15 against Diego Sanchez at 155lbs!
