The MMA thread

Dana swapped him for Askren

That's a tough one, I want to support Gane but I have a lot of affection for Tuivasa.

Doubt Gane gets a mark on him; Tuivasa is going to have to take so many risks to close the distance and get inside. Gane doesn't do blind, stupid exchanges, so it'll be exit; pop, pop all night or until Tuivasa hits the canvas, I think.

It is, before the co-main - not sure where that graphic is from above but it's incorrect, Makdessi-Nasrat is on the prelims.
It got repeated on mmafightings preview as well. I don't know if everyone is going off a wonky picture though

Knock-off Gastelum up next :wenger:

French fighters have risen to the occasion so far, Ziam looked good in that last fight.

Jourdain is usually really fun to watch so I'm looking forward to this one.

Yep that was fun.

Wood 30-27 or 29-28.
Definitely, really impressed by Wood, thought Jourdain might overwhelm him but he really nullified a lot of his more dangerous attacks and was clever with his trips and kicks.

Hoping Whittaker can get this done, Vettori really went up in my estimations after taking that Costa fight at light heavyweight but Bobby Knuckles comes across as such a likeable, grounded guy it's hard not to root for him.

Almost faultless from Whittaker, slow first round but pieced him up after that.

Those body kicks were brutal, Gane with more of a killer instinct is a serious problem.

Tuivasa's endurance is insane. The amount of pain he's going to be in when the adrenaline dies down won't be nice.

Gane's striking is what the HW division should look like over the next 10yrs. A true HW athlete. The sport needs them to flood the division and make it as respectable as the rest.

It's a real shame he and Aspinall cannot meet with Aspinall at his pre-injury level; but Gane vs all those above him is a very interesting set of fights.

I think Gane is ready to finally take Francis next.

Would be an interesting rematch. Gane's striking has gotten even better and his camp are trying to train concentration and a full ruthless streak into him, but N'Gannou's wrestling is the biggest obstacle of all as he has the explosiveness to breach the striking and defence to get his hands on Gane, so that one is the only contest I have Gane starting as underdog in division.

He's a nightmare for Stipe and who the hell knows what Jones will come back as at HW.

Still feels weird reading that

Just watched the Gane Tuivasa fight, man what a chin Tuivasa has. Chin, Liver and every thing in between.
One of those fights where I really like both fighters, but for the storyline, Gane winning probably shades it.
