Any links for tonights show? It's moved to Setanta in Ireland instead of the customary ESPN

Rashad out of UFC 140 then. Jon Jones vs Lyoto Machida is the new main event.

Certainly a much more interesting match up stylistically and I think Machida is a tougher match up for Jones.

I just hope it isn't 5 rounds of Machida side stepping around the Octagon with Jones chasing him down.

Jones' schedule this year has been insane. Bader, Shogun, Rampage and now Machida all in one year. I'd agree that Machida is the more interesting match-up, but I think Jones' reach will decide the fight. It'll be a nightmare for a counter-puncher like Machida.

Yet another excellent event on tonight:

UFC Lightweight Championship
Gray Maynard (No. 3 LW) vs. Frankie Edgar (No. 1 LW, No. 4 PFP)

UFC Featherweight Championship
Jose Aldo (No. 1 FW, No. 3 PFP) vs. Kenny Florian (No. 4 FW)

Chael Sonnen vs. Brian Stann
Melvin Guillard vs. Joe Lauzon
Nam Phan vs. Leonard Garcia
Jeremy Stephens vs. Anthony Pettis
Demian Maia vs. Jorge Santiago
Stipe Miocic vs. Joey Beltran
Steve Cantwell vs. Mike Massenzio
Aaron Simpson vs. Eric Schafer
Tiequan Zhang vs. Darren Elkins

For me :

Maynard, Aldo, Sonnen, Guillard, Phan, Stephens, Maia, Beltran, dont know either Cantwell or Massenzio, Simpson and dont know either of the last fighters.

Well he did it in an unorthadox manner (setting it up from the other side then sliding over) but an arm triangle like that is fairly commonly used, especially by wrestlers like Sonnen. A few well known ones off the top of my head, Brock Lesnar finished Carwin with it and Randy Couture against James Toney. Again, wrestlers

Yea I haven't been watching UFC for that long and I've never seen it. Looked cool though, I'd love to learn BJJ.

Yeah its a nice one, and one that you or I could probably use well given you use your opponent's arm to squeeze against the neck and stop the flow of blood to the head. So get the right technique and pressure and someone is going to sleep

Florian surely loses another title fight. Was more worn out and weaker than Aldo even in the 5th. Would have loved him to win, but what I saw was Aldo win so I expect the judges to agree

Another amazing comeback and he caught the sweet spot on that punch that put Maynard in trouble. Knocking him out is another big statement by Edgar after his wins over Penn. At first I wondered if it was maybe a strike too early on the stoppage, but on the replay its clear that Maynard was out when the ref called it

Edgar's resilience is amazing. Brilliant win. Maynard comes across as a complete dick so I am delighted he won. Surely there'll be a fourth fight? If anything, Maynard held back too much after he did the damage in the first round. He overcompensated from the second fight.

What a strange interview by Sonnen. I can see him beating Silva.

Joe Lauzon might get a shot at Edgar next.

I doubt Maynard will be given another shot for a while yet.

Lauzon probably will. It's unlikely Maynard will lose too many, he will stay in the top 5 anyway in the division and will get another title shot eventually. I'd like to see Maynard v Penn.

Ok, so I've been watching the latest TUF (the one with Bisping as a coach) I've watched the first three episode (or two, depending on whether or not you consider the opening double-header one or two episodes) but I'm fecked if I can find the most recent one on any of my usual... ahem... sources.

Can anyone help me out?

Internet "sources" aside, is it being repeated on any tv channels?

That was the best ufc event for a long time, the match ups were great. The next one looks like a great card as well.

Good stoppage by the referee. It really makes ya consider the great decision making by the majority of them. Can't say the same about the Yamasaki brothers last week

Well Maynard is a dick, but mostly it's ignorance. He's not the most outgoing and accepting person around.

I don't see how you have Sonnen beating Silva. He executed the perfect game plan against an injured and (at the time) pretty lacklustre AS. The fact he was on HGHs too contributed to his dominance in their first fight. Can you see Silva being held down or another 5 rounds to lose a decision?

I don't know about repeats but it's on FX in the UK on Thursday nights.

You should still be able to download Episode 4 though. Somebody I know got it off PB the other day. Thieving shit.

Yeah, if Sonnen goes with the same gameplan then he could beat Silva. I'm not saying he will, but I could see it happening. He only has to win 3 rounds out of 5 to beat Silva if he can avoid being finished! It's as bad a matchup as there could possibly be for Silva. I'd have it at about 50 50 personally.

No way. Anderson Silva is going to destroy Sonnen in a second match. It might take two or three rounds, but this won't be a repeat of the last one.

I think Anderson will win, but I doubt he will destroy Sonnen. Sonnen will take him down with ease.
