Did anyone catch the Real RONALDO (who was in the crowd) jump up and down when Anderson won?

The big man was bouncing up and down like a true fight fan.

Fat Ronaldo is Anderson Silva's agent now, that's why.

He's opened a Sports Marketing firm to handle image rights, sponsorship, etc. for star athletes.

I been looking forward for Overeem to come to UFC for a long time. He should have never signed on for the GP, and should have tried to jump ship after his Rogers win instead. But alas he has still made it to the promised land, and this fight will be very interesting. HW division is kept alive for another year or two with this signing. Lesnar gets another fight, as does JDS/Cain. Mir or Carwin aren't deserving of a title fight soon, and Brock himself seems more like a gatekeeper with marketability.

Diaz failed to show up for the two UFC 137 press conferences this week, and the UFC booted him from the show. Carlos Condit will replace him in the event. What a fecking turd.

Nick Diaz is such a cnut. Even Cesar Gracie admitted he acted like a tool. Basically said, Diaz has never had a proper job in his life and doesn't know shit about being professional and respecting your employer by showing up for what should be an easy thing. "You have to fly to vegas, all expenses paid, and answer some questions".... "feck YOU TELLING ME WHAT TO DO I JUST WANNA FIGHT WAAAH"

Saddest thing is, someone will almost certainly blame the glorious plant of Cannabis for this.

He must smoke like 10 grams a day or maybe he's just genuinely retarded.

There's a brilliant-looking Strikeforce card on tonight. Even the prelims look brilliant. Cant wait to see how Yoel Romero does against Feijao. He's got brilliant wrestling credentials but Feijao is a massive step up in class. Same goes for Cormier against Bigfoot really. I've had a man crush on Cormier since I first seen him so I'll probably combust if he manages to score the upset.

Prelims:

Mike Kyle vs. Marcos Rogerio de Lima
Rafael “Feijao” Cavalcante vs. Yoel Romero
Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos vs. Jordan Mein
Amanda Nunes vs. Alexis Davis
Dominique Steele vs. Chris Mierzwiak

Main Card:

Josh Barnett vs Sergei Kharitonov
Daniel Cormier vs Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva
Ronaldo Souza vs Luke Rockhold
King Mo vs Roger Gracie
Pat Healy vs Maximo Blanco

Some very interesting fights on tonight, and I was unaware of this event until you posted Pat. Now I've got something to do this night.

I haven't watched much Strikeforce, but he little I've watched and from what I've read, there seems to be a lot more fights finished by submission than in the UFC. Is my impression correct?

I haven't really noticed that. Strikeforce do have some exceptional submission specialists though I guess, particularly your fellow countryman Jacare Souza who is on the card tonight.

Reminds me of Wanderlei Silva over in Japan, used to try and pretty much Goalie kick opponent's heads when he was dominating. You can sort of understand why its not allowed in the US.

Yeah, I believe you arent allowed to do that in the U.S because of the cage. Think I remember hearing that they cant account for people having their heads stamped and kicked up against the cage, where theres nowhere for your head to go to soften the blow like against the canvas, etc.

Good to see a Gracie back in the cage. Very interesting matchup against another great grappler, albeit a wrestler.

Fun stuff so far, Souza seems tired after 3. This Luke Rockhold seems to be fighting Tae Kwondo at times. Crazy. I think he's ahead so far.

Silva never recovered from that very first overhand right. Cormier has improved his striking a lot from the first time I saw him

It was pretty much lacklustre from Silva though. He wasn't rushed by any means, and yet he couldn't do anything. Once he took that heavy shot he stayed well clear of Cormier. So far that he couldn't secure a takedown. I think he got a little too big for his boots following the success he had standing with Fedor, who has obviously not been the same since coming to America. So basically Silva was caught out in the cage, bad time to realise your stand up is average

For me, GSP is the only fighter that could get even close to actually stopping him. Both are incredible. Tell both fighters to hit 80kg 'one goes up the other comes down' and let them go at it.

That idiot Sonnen should have beaten him though?

I only watched the last UFC last night. I had it taped as I was away.

Silva was unbelievable. I was delighted to see Shogun win also. He still hasn't reached his best yet. I'd love to see Jones v Shogun (at his very best, as he was in Pride). That would be some fight.

He'd have had a tough time scoring a takedown on Cormier even if he hadn't been hurt by punches. He hasn't had to show it too much in his MMA career, but Cormier's wrestling credentials are some of the best ever to enter MMA. Delighted to see him win, and I think he has a great chance against Barnett in the final.
