So I can proposition people ?
Ask Edgar. I said we did it in a previous draft, it obviously hasn't been confirmed as something you can do in this one.
So I can proposition people ?
Can someone tell me which is the current list with the confirmed signings? I don't see it on the last 2-3 pages.
We did that in a previous auction draft, IIRC.
Or, more precisely - deals, not just straight swaps. You could offer cash for players too.
yeah I mean after all is done and dusted. Say 12 hrs (or 24 hrs) open for managers to propose swap deals to each other after all squads are completed. The nominations don't close for another 24hrs (or more).

No mate, I mean after the squads are completed not during the auction process. Just a proposal to spice things up.Well, we aren't doing it now. There will not be "I won't bid for X if you don't bid for Y" type deals in this draft.
Just bid up or not and let things flow.
@Edgar Allan Pillow are we allowed to propose player for player trades ? I don't see the harm in it so long as it's just one player and both parties are happy .

If you all want some spicing up, I can run one more T-bola after the auction. Interested?
Nope.

If followed by another round of drafting to replace the player, then sureNope.

@Edgar Allan Pillow
Can you give a reason other than just nope ? What's the issue if it's agreed upon for both players ? Just an extra fun element that wouldn't take long .
I.e. Hey pnuts, il trade you Batistuta for Maldini ?
P-nuts- deal
Switch is made
I'll provide ye with one reason: It could easily give an advantage to the two managers involved in the deal - they get to bail each other out for drafting poorly, if you will.
Which isn't fair on the other managers. So, in the name of fairness - no, it shouldn't be done. And certainly not if it hasn't been announced in advance that it's allowed.
Then introduce a vote , all managers in favour of trade say yay, all not , say nay

This ain't a democracy.

A. You won't do a trade unless it improves your squad. Then introduce a vote , all managers in favour of trade say yay, all not , say nay
Idea for future draft maybe .
A. You won't do a trade unless it improves your squad.
B. I don't want you to improve your squad.
A + B = It would be a permanent nay from me (and most managers I guess).
Oh sure, the two managers would vote yay, everybody else would vote in opposition. Those two equations are for manager outside of the 2 involved in the deal.C. The trade may improve your squad too. It could be a positional thing . I.e. I give up say , Roberto Carlos to you because I need vieira in the midfield . You have rijkaard as cover there , but Robert jarni is your left back .
You're right , it's an Internet draft that should be open to ideas . if I get jim white on board to do a trade deadline day broadcast , will you be more open to it ?
The purpose of drafting is to work within the framework of snake or sheep or auction or whatever it is. If we allow free exchange of players, then it'll just lead to all teams being near perfect. For example, you may have bid a lot for Batigol only to realize down the line a different sort of striker fits your formation better. A free exchange eliminates penalties for incorrect drafting.

I would.
But then again I'm not saying I'm vehemently against it to begin with - only that there are problems with it. And that it's Ed's draft - he can't take all sorts of ideas into consideration in the middle of the thing. And let's be honest - this is something people will be in favour of if they feel they can profit from it, they won't be in favour on general principle.
We should have had these discussions before the draft
As a kind mod and banker, how can I refuse to help?
The auction mod bank has just advertised a "Summer Special Buy Back Offer" for our good clients. We offer to buy Nedved from you in exchange for $30m cash. Or maybe you can sell Maldini to us for $25m?
Limited time offer only.
