I'm seriously looking forward to the Tevezobola
It would be heartbreaking if I was to get lucky in this round only for T-bola to take one of my boys away though

I know its early days but just want to say this is a cracking draft format so far.

it would be fun if we give one manager a free pass in tevezobola, potential meltdowns would be epic :D

Yeah I'm really enjoying it so far. It's a good mix of drafts tbh and something that could take hold in the future I feel.

I'm still wondering if there are any hidden surprises after EAPs 'need more evil' comment the other day.

the whole point of the draft is that someone gets screwed!

im just hoping that cal plays against mazhar, that could be one of the best draft games ever.

explain? is there history between them..

@P-Nut0712 gets it. Just think that the match thread would be fun as hell as everyone knows how much cal likes and rates Ronaldo so it would be interesting to see how would he go against him :D

I honestly think he'd vote for Mazhar and forfeit the game.

Be worth it just to see what happens. I always thought Cal was around the same age as me as he has similar views on the game and whenever I've spectate the drafts he seems to pick a pretty similar side to what I would.

I actually feel bad for giving Skizzo/Pat, Henry. Good player he may be, certainly far below the class of Pele, Cruyff, Di Stefano, Messi and CR and rest.

Still have half a mind to replace and balance them in.

You do as you see fit, of course. But there's a huge gap between - to use my own guy - Baggio (who's more of an acquired taste) and Pelé (who is beyond any possible criticism unless you play him wildly out of position) as well.

Just as there's a gap between, say, Cruyff or Di Stefano - and Ronaldo or Romario (who are "just" strikers at the end of the day.

So, there will be gaps - and thus lottery winners/losers. Can't be helped.

Do you have a worthy replacement in mind? Tbf all I can think of are probably around Henry's level.
I agree that he sticks out like a sore thumb in the GOAT company, as good as he was, and if you can find a way to fix this I don't think anyone here would object

See, the thing is - as always - that in order to truly level the playing field in terms of the available pool, you have to block the top echelon: You can't have yer Messis, Maradonas, Pelés - or yer Beckenbauers. Because there will always be a gap between that lot and "regular" GOAT style players like yer Cafus and yer Van Bastens.

Sorry about that btw, I nominated him without thinking as he is one of my absolute favorites but he is clearly inferior to Pele/Messi.
We won't find 16 players of their level though, no matter how we try

Not in the DoF pool.

Not important where, at least IMO
Someone got or will get screwed in every category because the difference between the best and the 15/16 pick is "big" so there really isnt something you can do. We all wanted a fun draft and this is fun, seeing someone get screwed or just to be screwed(this doesnt sound right lol).

Nothing to be sorry about, mate - I love Baggio. And he's far more interesting to try and fit into my scheme than Pelé or whohaveya.

and what happens to Henry, still available for selection? I think Henry is as good as it gets tbh... I can think of one other who is arguably more controversial.

I'm off to sleep. Time for a quick prayer to the midfielder gods to let me luck out tonight.

The only thing which makes sense is to replace Henry with one of the midfielders.

There are quite a few of those who could be defined as "forwards" in this context. They're all bloody good, though, so they'd be getting one hell of an upgrade.

Also, the most obvious ones to go into the "midfielders" pool as a replacement for whoever they get - are now gone.

There are still two rounds to go so plenty of time for them to catch up - it goes without saying that getting Pele means nothing if he ends up getting Tevez-bola'd.

And of course they could end up getting Maradona which would even the stakes.

But yeah, the main thing here is going to be Tevez-bola. It'll ruin a few teams no doubt and we could end up with Beckenbauer etc getting banned.
