The Biden Presidency

Taking care of the most important business at the end :)

Those Palestinians just love American freedom and democracy raining down on their refugee camps and hospitals.

Lionel Messi received a Presidential Medal of Freedom but had the common sense to skip the ceremony - for not wanting to be associated with Bono, Hillary Clinton and George Soros (allegedly).

When he moves it looks like the maggots are already hollowing out the corpse. You could cremate this withered, dried up, old bag of shit using only a bic.

Denzel? Risky move.

If one was tasked with finding a new word for a 'massive hypocritical wanker', you might just end up with a 'Bono'.

Agree with this 100% but couldn't put it as eloquently as you did.

This is a beautiful post.

The amount of criticism Bono gets has always kind of amazed me. I’m convinced that people are simply spouting received opinions on the man.

I struggle to think of anyone else from the field of entertainment who has done more genuine good for impoverished countries/peoples in certain parts of the world than he has.

Legacy like:
Omer Bartov: And that's quite apart from the fact that the impunity that Israel has received from the US, in particular, is destroying the entire edifice of international law that was put into place after WWII. The Nuremberg Tribunal, the notion of crimes against humanity, of war crimes and of genocide, the international courts, all of this is being completely ignored and nobody's enforcing those laws, those judicial instances to stop Israel from behaving the way it is. That, too, is undermining American influence in the world. There are many people in the US who are aware of that. So, there will be a backlash, but it takes time.

It is important for the rest of the world to choose between Democracy and Rules on the one hand, and Chinese Communism on the other, and steps like this should help the make that choice.

Plenty countries have shown that they, or someone within them, will sell anything boycotted on to boycotted countries at the drop of a hat.

Yes, of course. They are self-interested. But the Democratic world is slowly moving to separate itself from the Authoritarian/ChiCom world, and make neutrality harder.

In terms of foreign policy, biden did exactly what he said trump would do. Donald will need to be on his best cnutish behavior to surpass biden.

To be fair he is starting strong and he is not even sworn in

For the love of god, please stop answering these questions. It's over, just feck off.

REPORTER: Mr. President, do you regret your decision to run for reelection? Do you think that that made it easier for your predecessor to now become your successor?

BIDEN: I don’t think so. I think I would’ve beaten Trump, could’ve beaten Trump. And I think that Kamala could’ve beaten Trump, would’ve beaten Trump. It wasn’t about– I thought it was important to unify the party. And when the party was worried about whether or not I was going to be able to move, I thought, even though I thought I could win again, I thought it was better to unify the party. And I had– it was the greatest honor in my life to be president of the United States. But I didn’t want to be one who caused a party that wasn’t unified to lose an election. And that’s why I stepped aside. But I was confident she could win.

The sad reality is that Trump would've defeated both Biden and Harris. The country is simply in a populist mindset where people are pissed about a range of quality of life issues that people like Trump can easily exploit.
History has a knack for repeating itself, doesn't it?

You're truly fecked and so is the whole world.

Still think a Democratic candidate elected in a normal primary and with time to run a campaign would have beaten Trump, provided they had gone with someone with a bit of fight in them (Newsom or Shapiro for instance).

Not surprising really. His legacy has been ruined for a lot of independents and Dems by enabling another term for orange man. That will be his legacy domestically. Economically I actually think his administration handled it (mostly) well. In other words - the thing they grill him for on the right is the last thing on my mind when it comes to being critical of his presidency. His failure to not at least protect us against the tearing down of checks and balances at the judicial and regulatory levels before Donnie enters office again is his most futile mistake. Again - speaking domestically before anyone accuses me of ignoring foreign conflicts.

It's a bit like how Obama ruined a lot of his legacy by rolling over for the Rs towards the end.

Biden is a cnut and this will be known as his legacy. His Presidency will always been associated with what's happened first in Gaza and The West Bank and then expanding to other countries. I'm not surprised at all, just fecking saddened and angrier even more than I already was.

The children who were killed turned out to have been the children of Hamas fighters. Not in every case, but we try to keep that information flowing, but the press moves on, the world moves on.

Excellent.

So let me narrow down. The Kamal Adwan Hospital [where IDF troops operated in December]. The Israeli assertion is that this was a military/Hamas hospital, and the hospital chief was preening because he thought he would never be touched, but was basically a Hamas guy running a Hamas base. That’s way out, that’s the situation as you understand it, or you don’t know?

On October 17, 2023 (when Hamas falsely accused Israel of bombing Al-Ahli Hospital and killing hundreds), there was no civilian public official who said, “We don’t target hospitals. We’re looking into this.” Nobody even said those words.

So which one is it?

LA is burning but hey…Joe’s a great grandfather.

Read the room Joe. Unbelievable.

I can’t even comprehend what the tens of thousands who now find themselves homeless must be feeling
