The Apprentice

 Jamie just slags off Manchester....2 years behind London.

In some clubs in Manchester, you still have to wear shoes.

Imagine it. Backward bastards.

why bother at all then? kinda defies the point of the task

Not at all, these are still big chains putting their name to products on national TV, even if the orders aren't real. They're not gunna want to look mugs. The whole point of the show is that we get an indication of how the candidates go about their business, the 'sales' really don't matter do they. Often the tasks are decided by say, who gave the most impressive pitch of a product to a bunch of professionals. Is no different to me

That's right. Dickheads in London all wear flip flops.

Paloma looks good, but is a cow..time for her to go

rofl she buried herself with her last "defence". I didn't like her, but I definitely didn't think she should of been fired out of those three since the other 2 are useless....but then she buried herself by trying to belittle them with something she had no clue about.

He's just fired the most competent candidate in my opinion.

She wasn't competent, she was just very good at covering up her real self. It all came out in the boardroom. Very, very arrogant.

Great episode this evening.

The American version of The Apprentice with Donald Trump has far better candidates.

Absolutely, I'd imagine Trump has a greater say in who is selected for the programme - progressively the programme here has become more and more orientated to entertainment. The problem is also that the end job is not enticing enough, if you are a person who could get a £100,000 job in London by conventional means that is the way you would go, so there must be a very big glass ceiling for many of these people to get close to that. If it was a £250,000 job based in SW1, the Square Mile or the Docklands then the calibre of candidates at the top level putting themselves forward would be far higher.

That's to be expected I reckon. The prize in the American version is just far greater. Getting the chance to work with Donald Trump and $250'000 or work for that guy who used to own Spurs and £100'000, well the first one is far better. Like Brian said I don't really think we see the best business people really that bothered due to the money.

Add the fact that your average person does not even know what Sugar and his company makes, I reckon we would see some better candidates if someone like Richard Branson was "hiring".

Paloma was a nightmare, when she was brought in the other week by the project manager she was slagging him off saying he's not business material or cut out for it. She did the same this time as she thinks she's a cut above and clearly would rub anyone up the wrong way.

She tried to pin it all on Alex for the 'mistake' he made about the location given his knowledge of the Trafford centre but really there was no hiding from the fact that they lost because the didn't get the right product. He redeemed himself anyway by getting their team on the video adds all day. Nasty character IMO.

Paloma is a fecking awful person!

^ yep.

Horses for courses. When you look at things and compare them like for like, IE both in the same currency then its only a $90,000 difference or £55,000 ish, so doesn't quite look 'AS BAD'. Again, in that currency/country, both are worth over a billion.

Also Sugar ain't famous for owning Tottenham is he so that's a bit unfair. In his world, a world most of the Apprentice viewers probably weren't aware of before the show he's well know and a Sir or Lord for those reasons. Besides, the yank verison is a bit poo really IMO.

She was smoking hot on the You've Been Fired show. I would suggest watching it and trying not to drool. Damn.

She did deserve to go though, a shame because she could have gone right to the end if she sorted her attitude out. But thats 2 weeks in a row where her team lost out on a product due to their pitches. I'm sure the show is edited to exagerate, but bloody ell were they rubbish at charming people.

Far more people to choose from though. Are most of them who are put through not only chosen because they'll make good tv?

Obviously.

But I find it hard to believe that the morons chosen for the UK Apprentice are the best this country has to offer.

I tend to think it's as Brian GB said the programme here has become more and more orientated to entertainment.

Of course it is, it would be dull as dishwater if all the candidates were superb business men and women and did everything perfectly. It's not quite got to the Big Brother level of bringing in completely delusional people but it's not far off it if they keep getting people like that girl who got sacked last week.

And the best the country has to offer would be working their way up or already in decent positions, not applying for a TV show.

Which was exactly my point of a £100,000 job being offered - the very best in the UK will be earning that or will be working toward it, whereas the people on the programme if they had any sense would only go on it if they had no prospects of more than an above-average job.

Where do i apply?

The best part of the show last night was Nick's face when that short dress was being tried on. The old boy didn't know where to look

Nick is great, he always seems to be right on the money with his comments.

Tonights episode was pure fail. How is that everyone(including the opposition teams) saw the awfulness in the adverts except the groups making them? That is odd, I've made a few things, and people mostly see when we are awful.

Watching on iPlayer, but Alex is digging a bigger hold than whats her face last week so I can't see him not being fired here.

That was awful - the one thing Alex did influence was the view of Laura on this task which was wrong.

However my moment of the series came from this episode when Lord Sugar asks 'is this Stuart, the brand?' Looking on at Stuart after jumping out of bed.

So in the last two weeks he's fired the only competent candidate and now the only candidate with a decent personality, it's this kind of nous that brought about the appointment of Christian Gross.

He has a knack of awarding the win to the naff adverts - how the octi-klean campaign won I don't know.

Saying that Chris I've read is wanted on bail for something and is in hiding.

When you're up against Germ-o-nator, it takes more than creepiness and sexism to lose the task.

Both were so cringeworthy. Good telly though.

Paloma was irritating as feck, though, and a bit of a twat. Think it'll be Stella, even if she does consider herself a model to a strange degree.

Jamie I say, Stella has lost her way in recent tasks and often get's taken in on ludicrously stupid ideas.

She has, and the window thing was ridiculous in every way, but I think she'll see it out. Jamie was one I pegged at the beginning, but can seem a tad dopey and is another one with a penchant for bad ideas. They all do to be honest, has there been one good creative result this year?? He'd be my second bet though.

That said, getting a tad worried that Baggs, The Brand will get far. Such a fool.

People often mention Liz, but I never notice her doing anything. Might be because shes's so thin that she only exists in two dimensional space, of course.
