In the right place then. This is GB reporting live from A&E where scores of zombie like Man Utd fans have besieged the building shouting “should have waited for shaw!”, “not ten hags fault”. Many are crying and wailing. Unbelievable scenes here
What’s GB?
Ohh Great Britain
Bite

Potter will be in the mix probably. I think it’s between

Frank
Potter
Amorim
Nagelsmann (unlikely)
A guy who more or less said the pressure was too much at Chelsea is who you think should be in the mix for the United job?

The first thing RvN needs to do is appoint a new captain who can motivate and stop heads dropping if we go behind.

He won’t have the power to change captain, he will be here to steady the ship then move aside not come in and start uprooting everything.

Very happy to wake up to this. Season is still somewhat salvageable.

I hope they don't choose a replacement until the summer, ineos dithering has hampered our chances of achieving anything worthwhile this season, so as long as RVN can keep us up I don't see the point of rushing a new manager, there should be more options by then.

This. It’s a joke that fails like Potter are even mentioned. Think outside the box, get a young, hungry manager in. Someone who doesn’t overthink and shows the boys to have fun again playing. What we need least is another Einstein going on about process, rebuild, we need time blabla. Enough with that, we spent a fortune on this squad, it doesn’t need rebuilding. Slot came in and needed zero adaptation time. Do the same, work with the material we have, which on paper is easily top 3 material.
Absolutely. Couldn’t agree more. Managers have come in to clubs time and time again instantly produced a style, spurs and Ange, Flick and Barca just to name a couple. All this process rubbish is nonsense. We have a good enough squad to challenge in the top 4.

Half the thread mocking the ETH backers whilst simultaneously complaining the bookies favourites to replace him are all uninspiring shit.

Come on lads, even you can join these two dots.

What will happen to players like Onana? Who were bought in to suit Ten Hag's "playing style".
Been arguably the best keeper in the league so I doubt he's worried. Antony, however, has been seen with 20 LV bags at Manchester airport.

@Ish
 finally bud! Shame, I always have some sort of soft spot for our ex (failed) managers, and EtH is no different. I wish him well wherever he goes, but glad it's not with us.

Unless you're 4 years old, this is also a load of nonsense. Won 2 trophies, reached another final. One top 3 finish. Considerably better than Moyes and also achieved more than Van Gaal and Solskjaer in terms of trophies.

Only Mourinho has done a better job than him post Fergie.
Both Van Gaal and Ole did better than him in the league, which is the main barometer of success. And both did better than him in UCL, despite being quite shit there.

Moyes season was somewhere between EtH's first and second season, and miles better than this one. If we are counting interims, Rangnick's terrible season was still better than our last season, and far better than this one. So yep, at best case I'll rank him just above Moyes, but below Ole/LvG and considerably below Mourinho. But considering the money spent, and time given, I would rank him bottom, and think that together with LvG, long term he has been the most damaging manager we've had.

I didn't see any lack of effort under ETH or 'downing tools'. Players with low confidence being unable to execute maybe.
Not true. They heavily downed tools last year for a certain part of season and only picked up when they saw ETH will stay the season and some more. Rashford being the main protagonist of that.

Red flags have been there since day one with ten Hag:

- Didn't want to take any advice from Rangnick
- Tried to sign Arnautovic/Brobbery/actually signed Weghorst
- Back to back defeats in his opening 2 PL games, including 4-0 by HT against Brentford, before quickly reverting back to Oleball

Lots of people got carried away with his reputation as an up and coming modern, attacking football coach (guy was in his 50s already) and didn't want to see what was staring them in the face. I was suspicious of him from the beginning, lost nearly all confidence in him after the 7-0, and have been actively in favour of his sacking since September last year.

I felt a touch of sympathy upon hearing the news but then I remember how arrogant he has been since the FA Cup win. So long.

The guy was sacked 51 games after taking over the league champions.

Had to be done, but it’s still sad to see him fail. I loved the man, just clearly couldn’t coach us properly.

Time for another reboot. Hopefully a progressive one.

What will happen to players like Onana? Who were bought in to suit Ten Hag's "playing style".

Unless they pick a manager whose primary focus is to sit deep and defend the penalty area, I don't think style of play is a problem with most of our new players. Obviously players like Antony aren't going to make the cut, but that's not a question of playing style, that's just not being good enough.

I think ineos likes him. Doesn’t matter what I think.
I don't think they do. If they liked him that much he would have already been hired in the summer when they apparently spoke to other managers. With him being available for free and not in a job and all.

It had to happen, although it was clear as could be that this should have happened back in June.

The only manager post Sir Alex that I’m disappointed that we’ve sacked. God knows what the answer is at this point.

May I ask why you are disappointed? What have you seen (apart from the 2 trophies) in our play that would make you think he was on to something?

Absolutely mental to go into this season with him, sack him so early after continuing the same performances that made them keep him, and replace him with someone with hardly any experience.

I definitely think he's been served the biggest shit sandwich of all the post saf managers

That he decided to create his own shit side salad, pack of shit crisps and big glass of shit smoothie to go with the sandwich was crazy and to see him then smear all of that shitty shit all over his face and legs was just bizarre

I wish him the best. He's an odd egg but don't think he's an entirely bad one

I have seen a very large amount of posts the last few weeks stating with certainty that there was no way we would sack Ten Hag. Somehow I have my doubts many of the posters will reflect on how foolish they make themselves look when they act so.

I'd be shitting myself if I was Ruud. Turning this showe of sht is going to take some doing

I never understand the assistant taking over. What is the fecking difference? Clearly Ruud and the coaching staff were equally as responsible. Load of crap.
Because there's no one else. Its only while they sort the replacement out (in theory). But yes, it's not ideal.

The guy was sacked 51 games after taking over the league champions.
And we still finished in a higher position than EtH last season, had 4 more points, scored 7 more goals, and conceded 15 fewer goals.

Oh no, how will we cope when he goes and wins trophies elsewhere

An absolute abomination of a manager who turned us into nothing but a cup team. Even last years “success” was saved by a microscopic VAR call after blowing a 3-0 lead.

He’s the very worst out of Moyes, Van Gaal, Ole and Mourinho. And his delusion and gaslighting made him the only manager we’ve had since Fergie left that I’ve actually hated.

Don’t worry Erik, I’m sure you’ll be back to winning ways in the Dutch league. Want to take most of your signings back with you?

Finally.

Had to be done and really could have been done at any point since the end of last season (and should have been done after the FA Cup lets be honest.)

Have to feel that realistically a full time appointment wont happen until the summer.

I expect a good head coach to be a able to make use of the available personnel, play to their strength and make something click, Slot was able to work with the squad at Liverpool as constructed and is winning games from day one.

I walked into a pub for lunch and saw the news on the telly almost spurted there and then
