Anyone got some helpful advice for someone trying to build their finances?
Mostly been doing the Gerald missions over and over, seems to be a decent balance between time and income(especially for someone who's probably fairly average at the game), but it's still slow going. Also selling a Baller or GT Felon every 50 minutes.
Doing pretty ok overall though, think I have just over 900k, along with 26 vehicles. Though I only paid for a few of them, Banshee, Coquette, Bullet and a Gang Burrito(

Haven't unlocked any of the performance upgrades, but I haven't really been racing, quite annoying to have to win 50 races to unlock all the stuff.

@Levo is the best one for financial advice, he always seems to be loaded. Aiming for the Criminal Mastermind thing on heists you can get $10M, but @NotoriousISSY is probably not the best one to be teamed up with

Cheers though! I guess part of the problem is I spend most of my time playing alone. I done the first, 2 man heist with a mate though, and one part of the last one with a random group just so I could unlock the Burrito.
The upwardly mobile can also expand their garage space and fleet of vehicles with the addition of the oft-requested fourth purchasable property.

The crew will probably be reformed over the next few days at least. Will add you to the GTA PS4 convo in the morning if someone else hasn't done before then & there'll be ways to have fun/make some cash... just make sure you are in passive mode when near: swoosh, Levo, Duffy, Parmo and Christy or you'll end up broke in no time

Feck, had a mugger the other day, ended up nicking my car(and a few thousand cash), got chased by the cops and had it impounded, was a nightmare.

I religiously bank my cash now, even when playing alone.
Got in a little trouble in one game, was mid mission, banking my cash in a getaway car, while the driver was getting peppered by guys I should have been taking out.
Same guy that set the mugger on me though.
All Duffy wanted was a nice wedding photo and you and others kept killing the bride which ended up spawning me at the hospital

I was taken to the church in a police car while the groom got the limo. I didn't even know who the groom was for most of it. I thought it was Marksy who turned out to be the father of the bride (I think)
We found a church and ended up hiding in a little spot out of the view of the police who surrounded us, then swoosh decided to blow us all up

I ended up trying to drown myself in the church lake while Marksy tried to jump off the church roof to his death but the water only went up to my ankles

The missions for other characters pay a lot more than Gerald's missions - usually around $20k+ per mission. You used to have to be a certain rank before you could unlock them - not sure if this remains the case? You might be able to bookmark a mission after you have played it, which would then give you access to it.
We don't tend to do missions all that often, as most have a 4 person limit (although there are some for 6 people). So if we have more than that on, we tend to do more races, or, as in last night, just feck around killing each other). I'm always up for missions - probably more so than races, so am happy to join and do them too.
Some games like Snipers vs Stunters can pay well if you have enough people and do enough rounds of them - we haven't done them for a while so am sure we'll give them a go again.
But heists are the best way to make money. Levo, Stoney, Red and I did the Criminal Mastermind Challenge, which nets you $10m - which is where most of our current cash has come from. But if you do all the heists through in order with the same group of 4 people, then you get $2m in bonuses, plus all the money from each setup and heist. By far the easiest way to make money - and is also a good laugh. I would suggest finding 3 others from the thread here to do them with. Would be happy to be one of them
The performance upgrades tend to unlock organically after playing the game a while - you tend to accumulate wins. The other option is to repeat the same race over and over. I remember @Damien and I did Down The Drain over and over one morning - the first race was a legitimate race to see who won, then the second race we made sure the other person won...and repeated that over and over. That way we still had an actual race for 50% of the time, but we both then unlocked all the performance upgrades. Each race only took a minute or so.
I think the low point was when I stabbed my bride in the graveyard, rather than go through with the ceremony.
Cold feet and all that.
