Fellaini and Januzaj would probably be pretty good coup's for Sunderland to be honest, the former would probably be invaluable to a team like them at the bottom of the table with his aerial prowess and Januzaj if he can get a consistent run of games and could equally come up with a handful of moments of out nothing that could make all the difference in a relegation battle.

I don't think they'll get either, though. Mourinho will probably want to keep Fellaini and he'll probably think he can do better, Januzaj is a possibility but if he's going to a team like Sunderland it'll probably only be on loan at most.

8M? Thanks, Moyes!

I don't think these 2 are good enough to play in the PL.

Imagine if one of them has a good season at Sunderland, he'll never shut up about it.

"During my time at United, in case you forgot i was manager at United for a season before i was unfairly dismissed, i knew he was going to be a star"

tbf Moyes is pretty good at building a defensive unit so I wouldn't write these two lads off. Less pressure at Sunderland and I imagine for the start of the season both will just be cover/utility and are eased into the side.

Man Utd must be pissing themselves on the other end of the phone.

"bloody hell, what else can we sell him?"
"tell him he can have Love"
"he's only gone and said yes"
"oh my giddy aunt, what else can we shift?"
"I've got an old set of golf clubs in the garage the wife wants rid of, will he take those?"
"he says is the bag included?"

This is how they react to Love.... what are they going to say when Fellaini walks into town as their new record signing!

Fair enough, we're well stocked in the young defender departement.

That pic of Jose :)

Right to sell them, don't think anyone will become great players for us.
Sunderland/West Brom is ok level for them.

£7m for McNair!? wonderful business. The first bit of good selling I've seen from United in years. Even Love for £1m is pretty decent as I think he is absolutely gash.

Lmao glad Mourinho is shifting the deadwood out, it's so refreshing having a manager that actually has a clue.

Not going down too well on Sunderland forum though  which tells you everything about those players.

If Sunderland don't want them then why on earth would United.

We sold Richardson for 5.5m all those years ago... and got 6m for Alan Smith after he forgot how to score goals..

We love selling players to clubs from the North East.

It would be hilarious if they signed Januzaj who has basically been riding on the coattails of the two goals he scored against them 3 years ago.

I cant help but feel if you are willing to indulge Januzaj and make him the teachers pet you can make him into a good player.

I supect he will do well under Moyes

I doubt we would sell Fellaini, if true i hope we sell both for a mimimum of £40m, also i would expect a buy back clause for Adnan and a "never sell back to us"clause for Fellaini.

8m for both is a good move. McNair might be a PL level player but Love will be Championship at best.

They would be pretty damn happy with fellaini I would imagine

Maybe so. I would happily take the Everton version of Fellaini at United (not as a starter) that guy single handedly cost us a title and could be unplayable. But since he signed for us Fellaini hasnt even look like a shadow of the player he was at Everton imo.

Maybe he can get back to that level if he leaves, but I wouldnt bet on it.

It tells you that they don't watch them play and go by what their United supporting mates tell them.

You see it in here 'Championship standard', 'not fit to play in a sunday XI' etc... but the reality is wherever our castoffs go they tend to do well. In fact, I'm struggling to think of a single player who was signed by a Premier League club off us, no matter how shit we thought they were, who hasn't done at least ok even Cleverley was looking alright for Everton before he got injured and even fecking Bebe has gone on to do ok.

A case of higher standards here and players being more comfortable playing under less scrutiny elsewhere and not having every mistake lead to 100m people abusing you on twitter, Facebook etc...

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see McNair do well (at any rate his first season showed he's capable of better than his second season), although feck knows why they signed Donald Love. Maybe we knocked a couple of million off the McNair fee for taking him off our hands?

Fabio, Tunniclife, Daehli and L Cole were all sold to Premier League teams in the same season, all of them have dropped down at least one level since then.

@Kayo

There is no way on God's earth that Fellani is worth £14m in this market. He would be a huge signing for relegation fodder. A really useful player.

McNair has definately found his level at Sunderland he's not a good player and never was a good player, love I'm not sure about but based on the few times I've seen him he was nothing to be excited about, both are bottom league/championship players.

Also I can't think of any of our cast offs going on to better things, clev started well but fizzled into nothing, O'shea has always been average for years, Evans/fletcher again have found there level at west brom, the couple of ex-United Leicester boys just had one lucky season otherwise they're nothing. Macheda? Where the feck is he now. Fabio nothing. The only one that MAY do well is welbz but he's had a horrid run of injuries

there's only one youngster/academy player that I regret and that's pogba but now he's back here so it doesn't matter.

Very different situations. I'm talking about players that have been deemed good enough to hold down squad positions here. The only one there that its true of is Fabio (and even then not really) and Love falls into the same category as them (and theres loads of those).

Agreed, I like that we're trimming the youth players who arent good enough. McNairs place will be taken by someone who has shown more promise

Fabio started a CL final for us!

These two signings remind me of when Rene took Tunniclife and Cole to Fulham though. McNair has a chance but I don't think Love does at being a PL player. I expect both of them to drop levels from here.

Yeah most likely axel tuanzebe somebody like that.
Tuanzebe is my pick too. Jose is also impressed after his little cameo vs Wigan. I havent been following the reserves/U18s the past season but from what i've seen he looks like he'll develop into a beast - similar to Fosu-Mensah

People are going a bit overboard. Sure, it's not like they're signing Evans, O'Shea or Brown, but those two lads can play football and have been brought up the right way.

Players like Shawcross, McShane, Simpson, all failed to make the grade here and went on to have a solid career.

I wouldn't put any real money on McNair not making 100 PL appearances. I know less about Love but I'm sure Moyes saw enough of him to spend that money.
