Maybe they assumed the lure of anfield was just too much to ever want to leave. Look at Stevie Me.
Anything is better than selling him to Arsenal and thus completely burying any hopes we have of top 4.
Oh wait, I thought Liverpool had Suarez on a contract with three years remaining?
Saurez having only one option meaning he's going to be sold to Arsenal paints your club in a pitiful light- i.e. he would only for there because you are the only club in for him- similar to Torres and Chelsea.
That said, John Henry has made it crystal clear he won't sell Suarez to Arsenal, it is more beneficial for us to keep him even if he isn't happy here than for us to sell him to the weakest team in the top 4- ie a potential opening for a CL spot.
This saga has gone on longer than one of Alex99's posts.
No point having £45m in the bank if you can't buy a quality striker though
Can't really see it happening either way. He's not the sort who just puts his head down and plays. He will be a problem and you won't make it with or without him now.
Hi Saoirse.Oh god.. Saoirse has been promoted. We're all going to die.
Striker Luis Suarez left to rot in reserves by Liverpool until he is ready to 'show some respect'
Uruguayan excluded from first team and warned by PFA legal challenge to force move is doomed
The way I see this panning out is for Suarez to go back with his tail between his legs when we decide he's not worth £2 above £40m.

With the irony being that Liverpool must be even more pitiful - if he's willing to take such a massive shite on your club, the fans and the rest of the idiots and club legends that totally embarrassed themselves supporting him this whole time.
There is only one club in this whole affair who is looking 'pitiful' and embarrassed. And it certainly isn't Arsenal.
Suarez is exactly the type of player who puts his head down and plays, when has he ever huffed or seemed disinterested? Compare Suarez's few months before he wanted to leave and Torres- which one sulked around a pitch and which one gave it all?

I beg to differ.
You might. But you'd be wrong.I beg to differ.
I think they are gong to play it tough, rumour that John Henry is on his way to the UK.
Imagine this:
Suarez - Real
Bale - Real
Ronaldo - United
Fabregas - United
Rooney - Chelsea
Luiz - Barcelona
cesc's_mullet - west gate bridge
That only means one thing: Mr. Moneyball wants the money.
Really? I would have thought there could be a few reasons.

I don't think so, I think if wahts reported is true Rodgers is playing right into his hands.
'Left to rot in the reserves'? Its world cup year, Suarez will go either restriction of trade or constructive dismissal for that. And he will win.

How often does he come down?
You might. But you'd be wrong.
Liverpool isn't a club I have any aversion to in the least, in fact I've been quite supportive and empathetic of their struggles in the past years. However, I think you lost out on a lot of sympathy with the whole Suarez-Evra episode.
I think the major reason I don't want Suareza anywhere near us, aside from his mentality, is the realisation that he's single-handedly made a laughing stock out of a prestigious club.
We can take my car, go down like Thelma and Louise.
He visits the UK several times a year, not always during the season.
It's a little naive to just assume this latest trip is to sell Suarez.
Assuming that is the rumours of him coming over are true.
