All of those players would have been magnificent acquisitions for Liverpool in their current state. Miraculous, even.

Nothing wrong at all with setting your targets high, but those players are bordering on elite. I wouldn't place Konoplyanka in that bracket, nor much of an upgrade on what you already have, unlike the aforementioned.

I think you've got more pressing concerns and the pursuit of Konoplyanka was more of a 'crowd-pleaser' than anything. It reeked of desperation, but hey ho, that's only my opinion.

If you don't manage to keep us away from the CL spot, you will loose Suarez. I for one, think you will be, very, very Lucky if you finish above us.

You could, but, I don't think so.

I'm betting you wouldn't have said Costa, Sturridge or Coutinho weren't top level either. Even Willian hadn't proven much more either.

I am in record in Costa's thread back in October or so (or maybe it was a different thread, nevertheless, I did say it) claiming he's in the world-class bracket like Falcao and Cavani is, but was laughed at by some.

I think he's a super player and I shudder to think how good Liverpool would be now if you'd managed to snaffle him last summer.
