Sergio Aguero

But will he be better suited to the PL?

yes, the thing is, in my opinion players can always adapt to different leagues if they are good enough. The only way i would say it is a risk is if it is a huge fee for a player who is old in years and may find it difficult moving to a new style.

Aguero even if he didnt work out would still command a huge fee given his pedigree and proven quality on international duty and in La Liga.

He'll join Madrid for sure. The comment which jojojo posted is an indication of that. Don't know what Madrid are trying to do btw, they also want Neymar.

Good one.. Cause they don't either.. fecking Circus!

Sure they do. Buy every player under the sun, when the rules change and make 20 vs 20, then they'll have the team to beat Barca~!!!

I hope Aguero does not end up at City or Chelsea, hopefully he goes to Italy or ends up at Real. Ballague was certain Real would sign him which explains why they haven't signed him yet, personally I'd have Aguero over Neymar at the moment.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has confirmed his interest in Argentina striker Sergio Aguero should his international team-mate Carlos Tevez get his wish and move away from the Etihad Stadium.

Aguero said on Friday that a move to England would be of interest to him, with Chelsea also having been linked to the 23-year-old Atletico Madrid man.

Mancini has already given thought to the role Aguero could play at City, and told Sky Sports News: "Aguero is a player that can play for Manchester City because he is young and he is a good player like Carlos. He can score a lot of goals and can play with Mario (Balotelli), with Edin (Dzeko)... it could be (that he joins)."

Tevez has told City he wants to leave in order to spend more time with his children, although the club are understood to want in the region of £50million for him.

Brazilian side Corinthians have had a bid of £40million turned down for the Argentinian, and their president Andres Sanchez said on Friday that Italian side Juventus had made an even bigger offer for the player.

Aguero has also been linked with a move to Atletico's city rivals Real Madrid, as well as Juve.

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri was also confirmed as a target for Mancini, and he is hopeful he could tie up a deal for the Frenchman "before the end of the month". Nasri has one year left on his contract with the Gunners and has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium.

Mancini added: "Samir is under contract with Arsenal. Also for Samir it depends on many things."

Asked if an offer has been made for Nasri, Mancini continued: "I don't know in this moment, I don't know the situation but for Nasri it is difficult.

"I hope that we can buy because we need other players, and I hope that this player can arrive before the end of the month."

If Tevez leaves i want to see him at City. Great player.

Let's guess when we'll see something like that.

So you want to see a great player at City?
That doesn't make sense.

Would you rather watch him in la Liga??

He can't fit in our side and he would make Chelsea's team a dominate force so City looks like a good option to me. I want to see a competitive top 4 this season (don't know about you) Quality wise the top four have been shit for the past two years.

You want City to improve so you can see a "competitive top four"?

Bizarre.

Btw strange logic you've used. I'm guessing you would love to see Messi etc at City because they would make for a competitive top 4.

I kind of understand where Mainoldo is coming from. If teams in the Premier League are filled with more of the World's best players it will mean a more competetive league with more quality and more excitiment.

I don't fear Aguero costing us the league like a signing like Messi would. Bit of crap logic by you their to be fare. I did actually originally state if Tevez leaves... then I wouldn't mind Aguero. I don't see what difference Aguero is going to make that Tevez didn't. More like for like.

I'm actually disappoint on here that you guess fear competition. If we get a midfield in say the quality of Sneijder couldn't care who our rivals by.

On this potential transfer though. I think Aguero would be a perfect fit for City and the way Mancini likes to play.

I don't think he's as effective as Tevez yet but I think he could be better in a year or 2.

Yeah...but slowly City start to worry me.

Aguero will prove to be better then Tevez. He's faster, has more ability on the ball and more versitile. He's also going to be less of a cnut...and I don't say that because I know this for a fact, but we are comparing him to that neanderthal called Tevez.

Aguero to City isn't good news if you're a United fan. He definitely makes them better.

I'd rather they get Aguero and lose Tevez than the opposite.

Aguero cannot do what Tevez has done for them. But he can also do some things Tevez really cant and so Mancini might like him more. For example he could be played wide of a front 3 to support Dzeko, whereas Tevez needs to be in the middle

Which would mean silva at the head of the diamond then? Moving yaya back deeper into the midfield alongside de Jong? Unless Adam Johnson/Milner will be sacrificed?

Tevez carried City and Aquero will in no way make them better except maybe have less of an effect on the dressing room. Tevez on the pitch as captain was a inspiration. Aguero won't make up for that loss.

He may end up being a very good player for them over time but, as a United supporter, am definitely not worried about him replacing Tevez next season.

Aguero alone might not replace Tevez but City can find a system in which they'll perform better without Tevez. It can happen but I don't believe in it cause it would require some great coaching from Mancini

It doesnt really matter where Silva is picked and listed in the starting line up, he's going to pop up in the hole behind the striker

He's listed left wing, right wing, midfield its all the same. He gravitates to where he's best which is in the central space between the opponent's midfield and defence.

What I'm saying is Mancini seems to be the kind of manager who likes to have all different options of where to play players. I'm not saying Aguero might start every game right wing, left wing or wherever. But I'm sure Mancini will like the fact he can move him around and be able to play Dzeko in the same team as him without having to play 2 up front.

Its something he gets from Balotelli for example, but Tevez could not do. So the only way to have Tevez and Dzeko in the same team would be to play 2 strikers up through the middle

There is a rumour out there that the dippers and City have agreed a fee with Alt Madrid for the player and personal terms have been put forward. It's now up to the player to decide where he wants to go

Aguero talks to begin

Atletico Madrid sources have confirmed to Sky Sports that they expect to open official talks with Manchester City over Sergio Aguero in next 48 hours.

Aguero emerged as City's top transfer target as Carlos Tevez's future at the club remains far from clear.

At first Roberto Mancini suggested any bid was dependent on whether Tevez stayed or not, but it is no apparent that they will go for Aguero no matter what.

Aguero, who has made it clear he wants to leave Atletico, has been linked with Real Madrid and Juventus - but City are now clear favourites, and the player is known to be keen on a move to Eastlands.

It is believed that one of Aguero's lead agents Hernan Reguera held talks with City earlier this week and that went well.

Now Atletico sources have told Sky Sports that official talks are expected to begin this weekend.

Belief

City boss Mancini has reiterated his belief that Aguero would be a great signing for the club.

"Aguero is young and can start to score a lot. He will become a top striker. He is 23 and now is his time," he said.

"He is like Carlos Tevez and could play with Carlos, or Edin Dzeko or Mario Balotelli.

"He can play as first striker or second striker. He has good technique. After many years in a top club like Atletico Madrid he can play Premier League.

"Aguero is a good player, like Samir Nasri, like Cesc Fabregas, like Robin van Persie - there are a lot of good players in England."

This has to have a bearing on the Sneijder links; if they bring in Aguero, can they afford (under FFP) to bid for the Sneijderman?

^ They can bid all they want for Sneidjer but they are not going to get him. He is not going to move to City.

Got to say, if they get Aguero and can get the best out of Dzeko and Balotelli(I think Dzeko will come good this season, not so sure about the retarded one), Tevez will be a distant memory assuming he's not there with them next season. If they could find a quality sidekick for Kompany at the back, I'd say they had as good a chance as anyone to win the league and make an impact in CL.
