As well as bidding 30m for Rossi??

The SSN ticker is only reporting the Aguero bid being rejected. Not sure if SSN have said anything about a possible bid for Rossi as well (if any)

How come Tottenham have £30m+ to spend?

£18m for Micheal Carrick
£31m for Berbatov???

Na frig knowns.... Either way clubs are really trying to win this title!!

We're seeming pretty laid back at the minute:lol:

This is probably more bollocks from the Athletico president who last week entirely made up the story about the Chelsea bid for Aguero and Godin.

reports are suggesting that despite matching the release clause 45 mill was not enough because of taxation. Can someone pls explain??

Release clause has nothing to do with Spurs, Spanish clubs only.

Furthermore, if the bid is considered "hostile" by the selling club, the price is "Release clasu+VAT(18%)", if not it is "Release clause incl. VAT".

Love how Tottenham are trying to fit in with the big boys with all these bids. Harry is the biggest hypocrite out there when it comes to transfers. None of these players would be remotely interested in a move to Spurs i wouldnt think.

You could have said the same about Chelsea 10 yrs ago. Ok, Abramovich came in with lots of money, but still, London is a draw for any player and with Spurs looking pretty decent these days I don't see why they should be so easily discounted.

23 goals and 6 assists this season for Atletico. 22 years of age still, had his best season so far when he was 19 and scored 27 goals. Would explode at a big club, in my opinion.

Scouse won't be able to afford him. Plus they already have their strikers for the future.

If anything, I can see either City or Chelsea make a move for him.

City if Tevez pushes through his move, and Chelsea because they will want to pair him with Torres if Drogba decides he's had enough of playing second fiddle.

Ballague said that a few weeks ago there is some sort of understanding between Atletico & Real and that Aguero will join Real in the summer. But apparently there is something in his contract that he won't be sold to Real even if they match his release clause, which would mean Ballague is wrong.

I know people love Madrid here but this is why I can't stand them. Just try to buy their way to success every bloody summer. Barca might dive and roll around but I hope they hammer Madrid yet again next season.

MARCA have some terrific information:

Sergio 'Kun' Aguero has been on Monday with his agents and his father in the offices of the Vicente Calderon stadium for an hour and a half, although it is unclear the reason for his visit because neither Miguel Angel Gil Marin and Enrique Cerezo were in the stadium.

Barca still have 7-8 players in the lineup from their youth teams. That's pretty admirable.

Madrid just spend 300m every summer. They'll probably lose Benzema as a result of Aguero coming as well.

So, as expected, it was just Marca being Marca then. I would be very surprised if Athletico sell to Real. If Kun asks to leave, I'm sure they can find other suitors who'd match their asking price.

Why is spending money more despicable than cheating?

Madrid cheat too, furthermore they place no interest in any youth policy, preferring to ride roughshod over the rest of the footballing world, conducting their transfer business through the media, turning heads and unsettling players with little or no regard for anybody else.

They disrespect everybody in the footballing world, which is why they have the perfect man to lead them now. Just like Madrid, Mourinho is equally unscrupulous, disrespectful, self obsessed and arrogant. A match made in heaven imo.

I may be wrong but i seem to remember that the Spanish Government in the past had cleared Madrid's debts after their frequent and excessive sprees. I always thought that unfair on everybody else tbh.

Let's no turn this thread into Madrid vs Barcelona lads, it's possible to discuss one team without mentioning another.

Lots of valid points there. I just found wr8's reason for hating one more than the other a bit odd.

Good idea.

wr_8's logic is that if you consistently watch Barca, the dives don't really come out as much as those Classicos matches because the tackles dont' come flying in that much...

Basically Barca cheat, of course ( Busquets )... But its not as consistent as RM buying every good player in the world yet not winning anything...

Also, PPL don't like RM because they like to sniff at our best players...

Basically Marca know nothing right now but are still making predictions.

Indeed, going by that article they have inferred this information from the fact that Aguero had "a very serious expression".
