Sergio Aguero

That's another daft rumour to add to my list. I'm going to keep a tally of these supposed transfers and at the end of the window see which newspaper has made the biggest tit of themselves this summer.

I would like a look in on that list please..

Athletico Madrid have said they have received no bids or enquiries for Aguero.

No ones silly enough to pay the price tag, 50m. Let Chelsea or Mancity have him, he is worth 25m at most.

Just weird the way they came out with the statement from nowhere. Sounds to me like they're hoping for some bids.

How do you know it was from nowhere? It could have been a journalist asking a source at the club via a phonecall or meeting "has there been any interest in Aguero?" the reply was "no offers and no enquires". The best story he could produce from that is "there has been no interest and no enquires in Aguero".

I think you are adding 2+2 and getting 5 there mate.

How do you know thats what has happened, check your own math. It sounds though exactly the same statement they made about 3 weeks ago when Chelsea were supposedly about to bid.

I wasn't saying that is what has happened. Just that your assumption that they want to draw bids is a little far fetched.

You gave another scenario which is much more likely, recycled quotes giving a story a different spin.

It could be any number of things, to guess that they are trying to provoke a bidding war sounds unlikely to me. They just won the Europa League, I think it's more likely they will be looking to build on that team rather than actively try and dismantle it.

Hooking a Chelsea, City or Real bid is like winning the lottery. The whole world knows only those clubs can pay 50mil, selling to any other club they'd be lucky to get 30mil, which is not what they want.

If it doesn't work out, they'll just hope for better luck during the next transfer window. Same thing with Dzeko now.

Chelsea never paid anywhere near 50m for a single player. Shevchenko was our record signing and he cost around 30.

Sounds like Atletico are trying to encourage some interest, to be honest the lads not worth anything close to 50 million so their pissing in the wind if they hoping for that sort of cash, hes a 25-30 million tops player for me, i think hes massively overrated myself, good player very talented but hes not the world superstar hes cracked up to be from what ive seen.

Maybe the apparent lack of genuine interest at the moment is a testament of that.

Like what I see of him - pace, trickery, will get beyond the last line of defence, keeps the attack fluid and moving. Would work well with Rooney creating space for him and vice-versa. Only 1 negative point - he's small. But Saha wasn't the biggest and he worked well with Rooney.

51m too high obviously - but if something could be worked?

Saha is 6ft1?

Atletico are nuts. No one in their right mind would pay the release clause for the player. I'm guessing they are trying to get interest from Chelsea or Citeh, but I think their debts could lead to his being sold for less. Somewhere between £25m and 35m would be a reasonable fee. If Benzema was worth 35m, I'd expect Aguero to be. I like him a lot, but I don't think he as developed very much over the last few years at the club. I think he could work well with Rooney, especially now that he's more central.

I've been underwhelmed by Aguero whenever I've seen him. I think he has a suspect attitude.

He's worth much more than 25m in today's market. He has an insane amount of potential, a lot of you are judging him off performances this season where he hasn't been at his best. He has the talent to be one of the best in the world someday, but he needs to be at the right club. And yeah I'm aware talent alone isn't enough, but he's done well enough in his young career so far. Two years ago he probably was one of the best strikers in the world in his form that year. That says something when he was about 19/20

Annoys me as I see the potential this lad has. He reminds me of one my favourite strikers of all time, Romario in his style of play. Wether he can achieve his potential is another matter and yeah the market is absolutely bug nuts. It's going to get worse as well this summer before it gets better. Expect every unknown flavour of the day player from the world cup that you've never heard of before, being touted for about 25 - 30 mil everyday.

I think Chelseas millions is all this rent-boy wants, or to stay in Spain. It's going to be the same with a lot of players.

Overrated in what sense? He's being hyped up as one of the best young strikers in the world - which he is.

Overrated in the sense that the hype seems excessive against his performances.

I agree with JSV to an extent. He is a good young striker, but he's hardly been inspiring in the handful of games I've seen him play in. The hype is a little too much for a player who (in the games I've seen) is outshone by Forlan everytime.

I think that says more about the player that Forlan has become vs what type of player Aguero will be

I honestly don't see Aguero becoming one of the worlds best, he will undoubtedly be very good but the way people want to blow half the Ronaldo money on him is a bit silly. For me he can't be worth more than Benzema, who I like the look of much more potential wise.

You watch Aguero become the worlds best now and make me look silly

Its not about what Aguero will or can be. Its about where he is right now, and where he is right now is good but not great. He misses quite a few chances even though he's good enough and dangerous enough to keep making those openings.

As he's only 22 it's very much about what he will and can be. Is he worth the money being touted now though, no.

At 22, it will depend on what he wants to be so that he will be, in order to be what he needs to be, and under the tutelage of S.A.F., he is most likely to be, if not the best, but one of the best.

I would be happy with him in our side.

Imagine Rooney and Aguero upfront, that would be unstoppable.

But he is not worth more than £27m.

Why? You'd turn down Messi would you?

I'm a realist and I know that Messi would never play for us, so it's a bit of a pointless question

The Argies that we have already had proved to be great deals, didn't they?

Veron - flopped
Heinze - utter shite
Tevez - cnut

I've had my fill with them and would rather us not bother with any of those feckers again.

But that is my opinion. Everyone else can carry on creaming their kecks over a 'decent' striker playing for a mid-table Spanish team. A player that has been outscored by Diego Forlan.

What's wrong with being outscored by Forlan who is a class act? Bent has outscored the majority of prem strikers, doesn't mean he's better than them.

Heinze wasn't shite, was he? I'm actually having trouble remembering much about him; all i can picture is him waving his arms around and shouting at the linesman. I always liked him though, and he was something of a fan's favourite at OT. I always thought it was strange how he suddenly started wanting off to Liverpool. Obviously Evra was bullying him.

Heinze was a fair defender but a shite attacker, he's crossing was poor, he seemed like he had a good free kick but only scored 1 for us I think, TBF, he was poor playing CB for us when all our defenders were injured and once Evra settled down and was one of our best players, he starts bitching like Tevez did and once Rafa wanted him and he wanted to move.... this angered all the fans..

TBH, he wasn't totally shite, had a few good moments, was a really tough and crazy defender and will always stick his leg in just like Vidic did but he didn't have the pace, the flair, the attacking presences that Evra gives us and once Evra started to show that he is GOD, sadly Heinze fell out of the pecking order which by fair, Evra will and always will be the better player.

In summary, he was good, but only a little bit good... just above average.

Decent first season in a poor United side. He was made to look better than he actually was. He made plenty of last gasp tackles, which looked good but it was down to his piss poor positioning that he had to make tackles like that.

He couldn't even take a throw in ffs. Useless, and a total bleating cnut because Evra ousted him out. 100% fanny
