Sergio Aguero

Cadena Ser usually is quite reliable. But it seems very unlikely.

Aguero's options are actually going to be quite limited, given how much he'll eventually go for and who are in the market.

I think I recall him saying he won't play for Real, and Barca look to have taken care of that position today. That only really leaves us, Chelsea and City who could possibly afford him, with Inter as dark horses. I'd expect him to end up at Chelsea for around £40m.

That's also true for a number of other players, because there are plenty of names being bandied about, and while there are several clubs that could possibly be interested, it's highly unlikely that any one club is going to sign several of them for the sorts of prices being quoted. While Chelsea might be prepared to spend a large sum, for example, it's unlikely that they are going to spend literally hundreds of millions. Real Madrid are also certainly looking for players, but they can't afford to spend anything like what they did last summer.

This looks to me like it has either come from Atletico Madrid, in an attempt to drive up the price, or the players agent, perhaps, in an attempt flush out any bidders.

I've never been 100% sold on him but in a 433 would he move to the left or play in an advanced role?

Carrick would do pretty well in Spain or Italy, especially, I doubt Valencia would want him though

30 million squid with Berbatov going the other way. Can very well see a deal like that being sorted.

30 million squid with Carrick being offered too Valencia for Silva

That is a fecking rip off for us. He is not even worth £30m

More like £10m + Berba or £5m + Carrick

i dont think he is worth 50m or anywhere close to it ..
and apparently he wanted ~200k last time i read about him being linked to chelsea .. even if he reduces it to 150-ish .. it'll still be ridiculous

25-30m + 100k tops and that is being very generous
the wage structure will go out of the window if we grotesquely overpay for him .. and he isnt worth the trouble

60 million

haha yeah right!

No WAY fergie will part with that amout of cash for one player ....

NO WAY:nono:

Add another £4m + fee from Foster and get Torres instead. In fact, for that price you could get any of the world's best strikers - including Benezema - with plenty of change.

By the way, Aquero was crap against Liverpool in the Europa Cup. He only scored two goal in a second-rate competition like that. Forlan scored 6.

I'm not a big fan of this kid. Wouldn't be too bothered if Chelsea did sign him to be honest.

For the money he'd cost there are better alternatives.

The club needs cash not player exchanges.

It's a selling club. They're good at getting young talent and selling it on.

Argentine ace primed for big money Manchester United move

Sergio Aguero is primed for a £51million move to Manchester United after suffering cup heartbreak with Atletico Madrid.

The Argentinean played in last nights 2-0 defeat against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey, and now Spanish reports are claiming that Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to pay the release fee in the forwards contract.

Chelsea have also been linked with Aguero, while Real Madrid maintain an interest and seem the most likely destination for the playmaker.

The 21-year-old has previously mentioned the fact that he would not have a problem moving to Atletico’s city rivals if the club needed to sell, however it's unlikely that they'll be getting the £51million quoted from anyone.

ha

He's not worth that much surely? Transfer fees are crazy these days, I'm surprised every time another £50m fee is banded around.

Just imagine if you're Sir Alex and you've just seen Barca buy Villa and madrid potentially going for Silva. These types of signings aren't just for the suppoters but for the players. No one can discount the effect it would have on the dressing room to make such a signing.

He fits into our profile. He's young and he works hard. Yes it's a silly fee but at the same time it's a set fee so a bidding war don't have to exist. You never know. A lot of people have questioned the management, they could snap. All we should be concerned about is getting the right players in. Whoever they maybe. It's hard to judge Sir Alexs thoughts on the player and why we'd rather him that much more then Benezema however

These are the margins though. Just imagine if Kiko never got injured? Maybe he'd have scored and played lots of games - now we might sign someone and will Kiko get the games?Fine margins and all that.

Well yeah who knows what actually going on in lord fergs heed, and im not saying it cant happen or i wouldnt want it to happen (not seen enough of aguero TBH) but that article has nothing whatsoever to corroborate its title. Also it does seem unlikely in the current climate that we will spunk 50 mil on player.

who knows?

I was interested in some of Sir alexs comments I read where he said 'good player' and you just wonder why did he say it like that? Or maybe he was misquoted. I have no idea, and that's the beauty of it. If we do bring through the kids, fantastic but the club knows we have to be challenging for the champions league. To sit back and let it fade would be a crime really cause we've worked so hard over the last 15 years to get that feeling we can win it and keep winning it

Im all for giving the kids a chance but im also an advocate of buying an established talent to improve what what is a very good squad in the short term, im not convinced that aguero would be that man, and for 50 mil, well...

There are a lot of smoke screens going on regarding United purchasing of a striker.

Possibly the biggest smokescreen being that we're going to buy anyone at all. In all probability it's likely we won't end up buying anyone

we'll see. I mean the kids 21/22 so there's long term potential there and he'd probably keep his value if he did well and if we bought him. I don't think it will happen but I do think Sir Alex wont be happy villas gone to barca

Ferguson has been in the Kun Agüero, the ideal player to make mischief with the England striker and to regain the throne in the Premiership.

I know he likes the lad, but thats going a bit far too if you ask me.

...especially if he's going to be 'making mischief' with Wayne as well.

He'd be a great signing for Chelsea. Give them a bit of guile up front, something they lacked as they struggled to break down Inter in the CL.

I've watched a lot of Aguero and he is a cracking talent, but he has stayed a year too long at Ateltico IMO, he needs the move to the next level. Personally I think he'd blossom into a special player at United and I'd prefer him to several of the opther options we have been linked to, but we will never pay £50M for anyone.

I'd love to see Aguero at United, strange how he seems to have fell out of favour on here but he's quality. 50 million is a fecking hefty price though. 35-40 would be more realistic and sadly still out of our price range.

Thing is I've watched Aguero really struggle to create anything against well organised defence. Against Fulham for example he was reasonably quiet, couple of nice touches and dribbles but Forlan has been much the better of the two when I've watched them together.

I do not know why but I would rather we stay away from Aguero and funnily I hope he stays away from our PL rivals too..

Would be a good signing at 35 mil pounds.

Not improved as he should have.

And actually no way we are spending so much this season.

I don't know about 200k figure because tabloids tend to make up things as they go, but I'm sure he's on a high wages at Atletico. The fact that those foreign players pay much less tax in Spain as compared to England makes it so much harder for English clubs to lure them to the EPL.

iirc they changed those laws in Jan.. So now Spain and England are on a similar amount of tax.. Although its best to ask someone else to confirm..
