Sergio Aguero

Aguero has a bit more consistency to his game 'Rooney has those run of games where he buggers off', but an in form Rooney is better.

He'll turn out to have a better scoring rate i believe and he's all round game is up there too.

I think technically he is better. a better finisher, better with his weaker foot and better in the air. He's more of a striker than Rooney but his all round play is right up there too.

Technically Rooney has the edge I think. His technical ability is ridiculous, the role he's played in recent seasons has meant that we haven't seen it as much. Are you telling me that you'd pick Aguero over Rooney if given the choice when everything's considered?

Depends, i've seen Aguero absolutely tearing teams apart singlehandedly. He schooled Barcelona a couple of seasons ago and this is a kid of 20. Rooney has changed his game so much. He's like a playmaker/link up player. Aguero still has that raw burst and that untamed ability to just go for it, beat some men and bang it in.

All things considered Rooney is better right now and i think he's brilliant but i also think he has changed too much. His rawness is all but gone. His suspect temprament is almost completely gone and frankly i like that in a player. Of course they need to control it but not eradicate it.

I've said it before, when i first saw rooney i crapped myself, i thought "shit this guy could actually be the best player in the world in a few years" but he has changed so much he's unrecognizable from the player who first burst on the scene.

I completely agree with you on Rooney. A few years back he was one of the very few english players with Flair. Mind you we saw a glimpse of that when he scored against spurs:drool: I still can't understand why SAF has changed his style so much though or maybe it was rooney's choice.

And here i thought i'd get the usual slaggings from all angles for having an opinion!

We can forget about signing him now guys. Come January he will be a Chelsea player.

I agree with a lot of this, there have been plenty of times in CL and La Liga where Aguero has come up against top teams and tore those teams apart single handedly. It's been awhile since I've seen Rooney do that repeatedly

I don't think he does. Maybe in terms of finishing, but Aguero's form is much more erratic, much of which can be attributed to his youth.

What's the deal with this dude anyways, he scored two fabulous strikes the other day but why was he coming off the bench? Injury?

Most likely down to his poor form. Both Aguero and Forlan have been poor this season, though, to be fair, the entire Atletico team has.

Not sure why anyone would claim Aguero is better than Rooney, though. Although Aguero is very good, and has enormous potential, it's pretty clear Rooney is a better player. To claim otherwise is bizarre.

In the champions league, multiple managers for multiple seasons have left Aguero on the bench as a game changer for Atletico.

Not every game, but pretty much anytime they go with 1 up front its Forlan, because for Atletico he's the best and he's the one who delivers in front of goal.

Aguero, not quite so much. Although he's more likely to set up a team mate.

Balague said there was no way he was going to Chelsea in the paper yesterday :nervous: - this obviously means its a dead cert

Did ballbag say why? Chelsea apparently made a bid for him before. Is it his wages?

I think the transfer ban was one reason (and this proves Ballagues prowess at prediction) before it was suspended hours later.

Also I think he was saying that Aguero wants to stay in Spain although I might be wrong

WTF? Even after his performance against Chelsea he's on the bench again for the Madrid derby.

Brilliant by Aguero to get Ramos sent off.

What a player.

He'll be some addition to whoever gets him.

He's just scored a lovely goal, completely knocked Pepe off the ball, and when he could've gone down, he kept his feet.

If tevez if worth 44m, then this lad is worth 55m.

Bare in mind he's scored 2 already this week against Chelsea, now another against Réal.
