What a bargain for a player of his quality. Dissappointed we haven't gotten him.

Why have we dropped our interest.

I don't think we were ever interested. The only stories of us being in for him came from one French gossip account. None of the Manchester based journos reported it as far as I can remember.

Quality player. Does obviously have his attitude issues, but I would take him for the quoted price. Quality player and a steal at that price in this market. I would take him on, but make sure he is aware any nonsense will not be tolerated. If he does reproduce his previous antics, let him rot in the reserves until the next transfer window and ship him out. Would barely lose any value by the time we sell him.

Seems like good business to me, especially if he can play lb too like others have suggested he may be able to.

These are the sort of deals that annoy me, perfect for us, plays in a position we are desperate for cover/long term successor, cheap fee aaaaaaand we let a rival pick him up. Still happens far too often.

Classic. If he signs for Spurs, it means United didn't want him very much (if at all).

No doubt if he signs for United then this will be acclaimed the inevitable result of United's pulling power compared to Spurs:

The process: a flexible interpretation that will swing with the wind to ensure a claimed "win-win" for United, regardless of the outcome.

It's quite likely that with the same effort from both clubs he'd be moving to United, for various reasons including club status, history and last but not least, money.

And yet you have to wonder why no one else seemed interested.

When he eventually destroys the good dressing room chemistry at Spurs, you guys would be glad he isn't joining us. There is a reason why PSG are offloading him regardless of all his talent.

Isn't this guy a bit crazy? If so might explain us not going for him.

This guy is a very good player, much better than walker and half the price an absolute bargain in this market, he has age on his side and has friends already here at united. I can't help but feel This is one of those situations where we should be signing him 100% and we will come to regret it.

On #Aurier, he still has an agreement with Manchester United that remains his preferred destination. PSG prefer Tottenham.

It begins. A hint of less cocksurety.

Why would PSG prefer Spurs, what's that got to do with them, what a load of bull from Paris United.

If United were really interested this would surely be spoken about by more than one media outlet.

Fake news.

MU could be seen as more of a serious mid-term European rival.

Loïc Tanzi, a serious journo now at RMC also mentioned an agreement between United and Aurier 2 weeks ago.

Agree with this.
Yeah his attitude is a bit shit, but if it doesn't work out just ship him out. He's a good player. It better means we gonna give that O'Connor kid a chance.

ParisUnited is followed by Aurier on twitter

IIRC he has not followed too many and this is a something even if only a small something.

not really sure i see much point in this deal for spurs if honest trippier has never really let them down and the young lad walker was fantastic v newcastle, would be more looking at a winger who has something different to the current spurs team rather then a RB where they are pretty well stocked.

Tripper isnt the most reliable defensively. Extremely useful against the smaller teams with his attacking threat but can be a liability against top teams. Aurier would make a solid like for like walker replacement imo. Wouldnt feel comfortable with just Tripper and KWP as RB options anyway.

Also not sure which other positions we really need to strengthen? Id like another CM and to begin phasing Dembele out but doesnt seem like were in for anyone in that regard.

Yep, feel the exact same way

Honestly, I think we would have been better off going for Aurier than we would Lemar.
The calibre of our defenders concerns me greatly..!

Stupid fecking twitter accounts. This lad could be a beast and now he will be in Levys hands for a few years at least.

Possible that the influential agent Zahavi acts behind the scene.

Buying Aurier would feel like buying a blacklisted phone from eBay, they go cheap, you know it's a very good price for the quality of the phone, you may use it internationally but not in your country, if you find a solution to unblacklist it, you may use it in your country but you know it's still a phone with problems that might come back to bite you in the future.
Me personally, I don't do blacklisted phones.

lol I thought people were maintaining that you can't get anymore reliable than ParisUnited? They're clearly talking shite

If he was white would you have compared him to a blacklisted phone?

Define clearly? Were they wrong on another transfer?

I've never heard of them before. They have been pushing the United story all along, not Tottenham. Looks like they're wrong. That's pretty clear to me.
