Serge Aurier | Spurs player

I am sorry but Darmian is clearly good enough to be at least a back up to Valencia - because that is all Aurier would be. Darmian has shown he can do a job, and just because he isnt as attacking as Valencia, doesnt mean he isnt good. And yes, Tuanzebe or Jones could play RB if both get injured. We currently have 4 first team fullbacks (Valencia, Darmian, Shaw, Blind), plus 2 CBs (Rojo and Jones) that can play as fullbacks, plus a youngster for each side (Tuanzebe and Mitchel). That is more than plenty in my view. Hence why TFM can go out on loan and get a full season of minutes, so when he comes back he can compete in the side.

In terms of being a United player, in the past 18 months he has publicly called a team mate a clown and used a homophobic slur towards his manager, as well as assaulting a police officer enough to get a 2 month jail sentence which is pending appeal. Not my kind of United player.

I think it makes sense to bring in a back up that can easily become 1st choice and is proficient in the attack. Darmian etc can be stop gap, but not long term. Fosu-Mensa is no safe bet for RB in my view.

Regarding being a United player, the homophobic slur is my biggest issue with him, which I guess is safe to say is an issue I'd have with about 90 % of United's former heroes when it comes to wardrobe talk. Appart from that, he sounds like a Keane or a Cantona ...

Clubs interested: United, Tottenham, Juventus, Inter Milan

Tottenham Hotspur lead the race for Serge Aurier

L’Équipe report today that Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur lead the race to sign Ivorian international right-back Serge Aurier.

Daniel Levy has reached a deal with the player’s entourage for a 5-year, lucrative contract, the finer details need to be fleshed out, but an agreement has been reached at 95% between the two parties.

Once a provisional contract has been totally tied up, Tottenham will open negotiations with PSG, who want around €25m for the player.

Chelsea have also approached the player’s people, with Antonio Conte a fan. The Premier League champions have not gone any further than an enquiry at this stage.

Contacts with Manchester United are a bit less concrete. That does not mean to say that the Red Devils have not informed PSG of their interest in the Ivorian, but that any deal with Manchester United is more complicated: many intermediaries are seeking to get involved in a potential deal like this, not least Mino Raiola.

In Italy, Serge Aurier has provisional contract agreements with Inter Milan and Juventus.

Juve do not have room for another non-EU player, and therefore have made the following proposal: to purchase Aurier now before loaning him out until January, which is something that the player is not particularly interested in.

Inter Milan are not very liquid at the moment, and had been hoping to do an exchange with PSG for Joao Mario, something that Les Parisiens rebuffed fairly quickly.

€25m is the price, PSG must rid of Aurier soon, it is a top priority of theirs.

The player’s priority is the Premier League, but no English side will bite until his court case situation is cleared up. Tick tock.

Honestly don't want him anywhere near our club, good player but not worth the possible disruption. Poch doesn't seem the kind to suffer any bollocks, and I doubt Levy would either. It's an odd link TBH, we are looking for a RB so probably just included us in the running.

I agree, I have no interest in this guy joining Spurs and I hope we aren't in for him.

According to ParisUnited,Tottenham isn't interested :)

Did he give any more info regarding his work-permit, Courtcase?

His advisors try to get an official document saying Aurier has appealed his conviction so that he can apply for a work permit.

the "..." shows they are starting to have second thoughts but must keep up the cocksurety of their own 'sources' charade.
That's a weird way to interpret "...".

ParisUnited6 seem very sure about this. Telling Di Marzio and L'equipe their info is incorrect. With the player in question also following them. Let's wait and see how this unravels. I personally hope they're right.

Aurier hates french medias...and they hate him. That's why he wants to come in England. :boring:

Like Ginola or Cantona before him.

If he signs for Spurs they sold Walker for a lot of money while getting a cheaper player who is also better. Upgrading while actually gaining money, good business.

PSG just sold Matuidi for a mere £18M to Juventus. Talk about dirt cheap!

You can tell PSG want to recoup any sort of money to help finance/make up for the Neymar fee and they're selling well below market value to do so. Aurier at just £25M is another steal for whomever gets his services (United front runners according to Paris United). Get your case cleared lad and let's fecking get going! Teams always inflate prices for any of their players linked to United and this would be a once in a blue moon opportunity where it wouldn't be the case with the position PSG are in. Aurier is class and has world class potential which he has yet to tap into. That sort of value at £25M might just be the first and last time United find such a deal. Quality enough to replace Valencia as starter within the season tbh and surely the starter for next season. No brainer whatsoever.

I would have grabbed Matuidi at £18M!

:D To me it sounds like they are pretty confident in their source.

It looks like he's agreed personal terms with a few clubs, I guess it all comes down to the players preferred club. We will have to wait and see.

Still no idea what's happening with this guy. Having given it some thought if he was to sign for spurs he would start with a clean slate and see how it goes. No doubting his talent as a player though. Still wouldn't be too happy with the signing but willing to give the guy a chance.

He would go to Spurs for 25m. Then after a couple years, we will buy him for 50m as a replacement for Valencia.

I've got a bad feeling about Valencia this year, think we could see him injured bit and declining because of it. I think this lad would be good business if doable.

I'm not sure if Pochettino will want him. They've praised Trippier an awful lot since the sale of Walker and the young lad Walker-Peters played well against Newcastle last week.
