His improvement since Mourinho left has been incredible. Ole has to take a-lot of credit for that.
Scotland fans don't think he should be starting for them
Not really. Thats just natural development. His improvement since Mourinho left has been incredible. Ole has to take a-lot of credit for that.
But Ole's deployed him in a different position allowing him to tap into more of his potential? Not really. Thats just natural development.
Biggest Credit goes to Mourinho giving him his debit and persisting with him, despite many fans saying he was shit.

He's most likely an idiotic Rangers fan.
McTominay and McGinn should be locked on in Scotlands midfield. It's who plays with them that's the issue.
Absolutely, totally agree. I think I would be playing the two of them and McGregor, even though his form has dipped a wee bit.

I'd have Christie ahead of McGregor to help add goal threat to the side.
However I really liked the look of Gilmour for Chelsea yesterday.
Better than Darren Fletcher based on his performances in recent games?
I think it's fair to say that he was playing nervously under Mourinho. He was pretty inexperienced at that point and often new players will play within themselves while fitting into the squad. Similarly how Williams is playing at the moment. Both Mourinho and Solskjaer deserve credit for McTominay. Mourinho brought him into the team and gave him decent minutes and actually treated him well. Giving him that pretend Manager's award one year was a bit weird but it probably meant a lot to McTominay and was infinitely better than he how he treated other young players like when he complained about having to play them in pre-season.
However under Mourinho McTominay was given a fairly restricted role in the team. He would do his job defensively and that was it. Solskjaer has got him playing like a complete midfielder. He's getting forward more, dribbling more, his passing has more range and attacking intent behind it. He looks like twice the player than he was at this stage last year. I don't consider that normal development, I consider that a massive leap forward.
Last night he was very good again. I was nervous after his early yellow but he wasn't phased at all and ended up being our second best player after Rashford.
And yet even McTominay himself disagrees with you. But yeah, you must be right! Not really. Ole has clearly elevated him. Anyone can see that. Mourinho used him
as a pawn in his battle with the Board.

"I don't want to speak too much about previous managers, but Jose's very special to me," McTominay explained.
"He still keeps in contact with me now and keeps in touch with me after games and different things like that.
So he'll always have a special place in mine and my family's heart because he was the one who brought you here, he was the one who trusted you, he's the one who had belief in you.
I owe a tremendous amount of credit to him, because if it wasn't for him, I might not necessarily be sat in this seat."

Yeah, I’ll believe your opinion instead. Thanks. You made my day!Wow, asked about another manager and he praised him. Inspirational stuff, thanks so much for sharing but I had seen this already
Yeah, I’ll belaive your opinion instead. Thanks. You made my day
Why does Pogba have to been brought up in every thread? Any chance to bash him.
When young players with talent are given chances over an extended period of time, they'll improve. It's not difficult to grasp.
He's better than Herrera though. Far more consistent.
I keep reading this. What's the source? You can hardly imagine how happy I'd be to give credit to SAF instead of some portuguese coach for bringing our new midfield dominator to the fore.

Playing him at CB in a 3 man defence away to West Ham in a must win match, when we had Bailly and Darmian on the bench - then stating after the match "we have no good defenders"... yes 2000% i'd say that was a political move. You can't seriously think that Mourinho used him as a pawn?
Yeah. I'm serious. Are you serious? It was clear as day he played him to make a point that he wanted new players. Remember the game he bizarrely started him as a CB? What was that all about!
Look, it’s great he played him and gave him a platform but he also restricted him, I feel. Ole has clearly given him more freedom on the pitch and he’s excelled. He’s more of a box-to-box type player, however under Mourinho he simply never enjoyed that freedom. His game has improved so much since Ole arrived.

He then did it again at home to Southampton I think it was? and he got subbed at HT. We didn't see Scott again all season.
