SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Not in England the only official person who has said essential workers was Nicola Sturgeon. Labour have ask for clarification on what Boris means by Necessary. Sky seem to think that if you can't work from home you can go to work but it's not clear.
Yeah we have been told that its essential that we go to work from our boss. We work in the semi-conductor industry so its not essential business

Depends what the electronics are used for, they may be needed for medical devices.

Does UK get free premium pornhub now too?
Asking for a friend.

Why the feck wouldn't they just announce this in a press conference? At least then we may have had more clarification over the situation.

It might be less busy but all it takes is 1 person on that tube to be a carrier and they'll all get it.

That could mean thousands of extra infected people. It sucks but all tubes should be closed.

 Mate it specifically says no silliness in the thread title.

But far from the truth. Your rules seem very similar to ours and 90% of the construction business has been put on hold since the "lockdown". I wouldn't be sure about it at all, it's not essential work.
I wasn't entirely serious with that, as I didn't get a serious answer. I'm still unsure what they will do here as every time I ask my friend about it, who is in the trade, he is adamant that they won't close the sites as it would cause too many financial implications with contracts etc. I'm interested to see what happens now.

It's not enough. People will keep taking the piss.

There should be two 'Exercise Hours' a day - like, 12-1 and 8-9 etc for people to walk dogs / kids and so on.

That would just mean that 60 million people would be outside at exactly the same time. Not exactly what is required here.

Yea, that's what you want. The whole of the UK leaving their homes at exactly the same times.

So it's stay at home and not provide for his family?

What people SHOULD do is a long way from what they can do in a lot of cases. If the sites are open, they will go.
Yep, this is exactly my friend's stance on it. Even though there are 100s of them all working within close proximity to each other.

Sorry to ask the important questions here but I wonder if takeaways are still allowed to be open

what the others said. Crazy idea.

Edit: ok so if you don’t have a kid or a dog you can’t take a walk. Also a crazy idea.

I'm curious, i cycle regularly and even i'm confused as to what constitutes once per day....a 6hr bike ride? So many loopholes i can find already.

Boris slightly bungled what he was meaning, as he said "one form" of exercise.

Obviously you can do one form of exercise numerous times a day.

But he obviously meant one "session" a day. But like you say, a session can last forever.

I also was debating with people about why 1 long run would be any safer than 2 shorter runs?

However, i'll keep in with the 1 run a day routine. We all have to do our bit, while totally not melting down

I wouldn't have imposed such strict measures before someone even died from the virus. Unfortunately, there's a balance between the impact on lives and the long term economy and difficult decisions have to be made and sometimes (in hindsight), everyone's an expert.

I'm not an expert like you and I definitely won't politicise a global pandemic.

Why are you suggesting that commenting on measures introduced by the government is "politicising" the pandemic?

I never claimed to be an expert. Would retracting my initial statement of "weeks" and saying that these measures are one week too late be any better for you? I suspect not and yet it's me that's apparently being political...

He's described lockdown, but not actually said lockdown.
It's almost as if, again, he was strongly suggesting what we should and shouldn't do. None of this is going to be enforced. If I go out tomorrow I'll still see people in groups, I'll still see people go out numerous times a day and I'll still see people meeting family and friends

I'm in the process of buying a new house was supposed to be getting the keys on Fri. Got fridge freezer, couch, internet etc. All ordered.

Have no idea what will happens with all that ...I cant pay a mortgage on a house I'm not in!

In fact theres a chain so the seller will be stuck in it and so on. Wish they'd allowed something like that to be completed. Isn't it contractual/legally binding given the missives are concluded. What a nightmare all round .
I bet you can be sued for not paying the mortgage on a house you're not in!

Does everyone in the country have a dog / kids...?

Lockdown for everyone else.

There's 10,000,000 kids in the UK and I have no idea how many dogs. Let's say their parents go with them and 1.5 kids per family and you have approx 25,000,000 people.
