SARS CoV-2 coronavirus / Covid-19 (No tin foil hat silliness please)

Alarmingly an expert on infectious agents called Michael Osterholm says once China goes back to work, where people are using the subway and public transport, then the virus will return there. He says our only hope is a vaccine.

It's probably best to consider it like Malaria and not tell ourselves that it's going away anytime soon or that an efficient vaccine is going to be quickly developed. We will most likely find drugs that mitigates the effects and reduce global death figures though.

Yea Trump just fast tracked some Malaria drug for use.

Read yesterday a doctor in China saying stem cells worked. It could be false though.

An Australian doctor claimed drugs used to treat HIV also worked.

They really need to do more for the vulnerbale and keyworkers. Even I'm getting a bit worried of not being able to eat anything other than a greasy take-away.

On the Joe Rogan podcast?

I can't work out if people are just naturally selfish- 'If i'm going to get it i'm going to get it, just gotta take it on the chin'-, or misinformed/ignorant and just haven't been given the correct information clearly and effectively by the government, e,g this probably won't kill you and some of you won't even show symptoms but you can be a carrier to other people who will be more susceptible.

Complete plebs. But it's a failure of government to not forcibly close these places. I had to go to library other night before it shut and the pubs were rammed. Frustrating to see.
Complete plebs going to libraries spreading the virus.

People still havent come to terms with ther seriousness of it yet, but they will when one of their friends or relatives die from it

Yes

It's putting people around them at risk as well though. That's certainly my issue with people carrying on as normal right now.

I'm so pissed at my Dad. He was at the horse racing on saturday, went out to the rugby on sunday and then on to the pub, then was at the pub again after work last night. He works in a care home with very old, high risk, vulnerable people. He's 62 as well, and not in the best of health either so he's also high risk. He's a smart guy, I thought he'd know and act better, but he just thinks it's "funny". He's always taken his job very seriously and gone above and beyond for the people he works with, but I just don't know what he's thinking right now. Maddening.

It's rather alarming to read such stories. Should tell him the story about patient 31 in South Korea who spread the virus to hundreds of people, who spread it to thousands more

Probably the same ' who gives a feck about anyone else ' people who throw their empty Red Bull cans through their car window.

The government thinks people are actually listening to them

Fecking wake up Boris you cnut. People don't care

Tesco implementing soem changes

Did they just sign off advising people to go into store to thank their staff?! I’m not saying you shouldn’t thank whilst paying for your shopping, but don’t pop in to say thanks!

Do.we have any recent graph data comparing the cases of all countries? Just want to know how does the curve look like when compared to Italy and China
