This is what is agitating about this situation? Unsurprisingly if you deliberately project yourself as an off the cuff charmer people are unlikely to take you seriously as you waffle from behind your fringe at a time of national crisis. People thinking Boris is a tit is such a non issue right now.Debate over the strategy yeah, but it's feckwits saying "Boris is shit" "haha Boris is clueless" as if he hasn't got loads of advisors around him and medical professionals, not a bunch of people behind a computer screen eating wotsits in their underpants.
I am wondering whether the government had a roadmap for big announcements spaced out each day this week, so there were clear headline messages each day. or whether this situation is moving so quick that they just keep coming?
Monday) Social distancing and isolation
Tuesday) Business
Wednesday) Children & education
Thursday) ?
Friday) ?
Edit: The PM Boris Johnson and the Education Secretary making speeches at the same time. Sort it out lads, we want to hear from you both.
That's assuming China has been truthful in its reporting which we can probably all agree seems highly doubtful. This time tomorrow Italy will have likely overtaken China in confirmed deaths with less than half confirmed cases

That’s true but I’m just going by ‘official’ numbers. Still, Italy is being hit hard. That's assuming China has been truthful in its reporting which we can probably all agree seems highly doubtful.

Hearing from a few mates that police have been briefed that UK will be in lockdown at the start of next week.
This kind of thing is much easier in small places than across whole countries.
I can't wait to sit on my arse and do nothing for however long this lasts. Any Netflix shows you can recommend mate?Yeah i'm saying they should still get paid but should have to do something to earn it. No chance should they be getting one big holiday from this. They can be in marking, planning and looking after a tiny number of kids who have nowhere to go due to parents who are grafting in the hospitals etc.
Fair enough. And yes - you are right that should be the focus. That’s true but I’m just going by ‘official’ numbers. Still, Italy is being hit hard.
I am presuming this is fake?:
Wtf. How is that going work? If the building needs to be reopened for students then Estates need to come in as well. Then there's additional travel arrangements for the kids, plus the Health and Safety inspectors, plus first aiders, plus reception staff.Yeah i'm saying they should still get paid but should have to do something to earn it. I haven't seen anyone in this thread just say '''Boris is shit hahah''. People have been rightly critical of the government response, yet that seems to have touch a nerve for a certain someone. This is what is agitating about this situation? That's not forgetting that whilst these teachers are delivering lessons and doing their normal prepping, marking etc they'll also be expected to provide online learning for other students, video meetings, and more than likely do CPD training because the majority of teachers have never done remote learning. If you think teachers are going to be having one big holiday then you're having a laugh mate.
But none of it matters because if the government say the buildings are shut then they're shut.
China's deaths won't even reach 4k (unless the virus comes back later), Italy's are easily going to reach 6k (in best case scenario we can assume that they are at the peak, so they are at around half of the deaths). Of course, they are not at the peak there, there was a large increase from yesterday in the number of new cases, so they are going to have 10k deaths even with the total lockdown. This time tomorrow Italy will have likely overtaken China in confirmed deaths with less than half confirmed cases
Yeah, I know but it doesn't sound like a long term viable option tbh.Tbf he called it.
UK schools are shutting but children of key workers will still go in and schools expected to cater for them.
Good idea I think and helps with the childcare issue.

Unless soldiers are getting smaller it looks like cadets at the front
In Italy, the vast majority of people who are getting fines for breaking the lockout orders, seem to be the elderly. Like having a death wish or something. Why is it the older generation (who's more at risk of this) the one's that are the most obstinate? My old man just isn't having any of it. Not just him, but others I've talked to who are around his age share the same opinion. They actively get angry by any mention of it. It's fecking bizarre.

Already asking when schools will open again
