Nope, there were clear indications from the journos that they've been briefed, when they contacted southampton they had no idea about any interest.
So you think Ed shouted his mouth off to journalists and didn't think that either A. They would say anything, or B, about the consequences of Southampton actually finding out what he had said.
You think he may have neglected to think about what sort of press it might receive if we state our interest and don't get Mane as well as missing out on Pedro.
I'm more of the opinion that if he has indeed briefed the press it's more likely a scent to throw them off something else or if we do indeed want Mane, it's to unsettle him and make him agitate for a move.
Oh they've been briefed, there's absolutely no doubt about that, just like they were briefed an hour earlier that van gal has pulled the plug on pedro, they were all informed of our interest in mane at the same time.

I'm starting to think that this is a smokescreen by us to distract the media, while we work on a more high profile signing (like Muller). Unrealistic as it may be, I think we're really going to try to sign a big name like that. We briefed to the media that we made a bid for him last week, only for Southampton to say that we never made a bid and haven't even contacted them about him. Not to mention, Southampton don't want to sell him, and rightfully so. Bild had the recent news about us making a big bid for Muller, and Bild are supposed to be pretty reliable when it comes to Bayern (first to break the Schweinsteiger signing news too). Personally I don't think there's any chance that Bayern would sell Muller to us, especially after already letting Schweinsteiger go. But this whole scenario is the only way this makes sense to me.
Dont really get this one if im honest, would rather the gametime go to Januzaj and pererra, or better yet, a world class addition. I dont see what he offers, for a price that will likely be around 25m thats worth it.

Maybe he's happy with what he has now but is worried about lack of depth, mane would be a good addition in that respect.
I wouldn't mind him here but his ability to keep possession is one of the weakest aspect of his game, which makes me doubt that LVG would want him in the first place.
For the right price, I'd agree. I don't think we could get him for less than £20m though, given they paid ten and he's since shown that playing in this league is something he's capable of... that'd be a lot for a squad player.
