There is so much dislike, boardering on hate ,for Giggs on here its unbelievable. The least he deserves is a bit of respect from the Club he served so loyally for 29 years.

Giggs was PROMISED the Manager's job so why cant he feel aggrived for the broken promises.? If you yourself are promised a promotion at your work place and it doesnt come will you not feel disappointed. Yes circumstances have changed by why didnt Ed communicate it to him.

I hope he does well in his future endevours and hope to see him back at United in the not too distant future

If I were promised a promotion in a couple years and then me and my team failed miserably and cost the business a lot of money, I'd understand if I was then told to sod off and handed my p45. It would take a very stupid person to expect to be rewarded instead.

Whoever is mentioning Giggs as manager of the under 21's needs their heads testing. Do not under estimate the job Warren Joyce has done. He provides the bridge between under 21's and the first team. If Giggs wants to stay give him the under 18's. If he doesnt want that, then dont let the door hit him on the way out.

if he was PROMISED the job it was on the basis that LVG came in, stabilised the club, giggsy impressed as an assistant and took up the reigns.

The club wouldn't blindly promising the biggest job in world football 3 years in the future without any caveats.

I agree. Thats why I said circumstances changed but the communication was poor and the whole thing looks bad on Ed and the Club again if you factor in how Moyes and LvG were sacked. I also dont think its not the right time for Giggs to take over but he can play some influential role at the Club especially with young players in the 1st Team as they look up to him. The young players in the squad spoke highly of him and his influence in their development and it would help in this situation where the impression on them is that Jose will never have time for Academy players

Even if Van Gaal was some sort off success, offering Giggs the job was beyond stupid. Especially after the Moyes saga.

This last three years have knocked the stupidity from us and I think we now realize that if we want to remain a top club ,we have to act like one and not some romantic Disney novel

It's the notion that Giggs doesn't think that either his performance or the teams performance over the past 3 seasons has any bearing on his "promise" of the Management job that I refuse to believe. Nobody is that pig headed, entitled and stupid.

How do you know???? I suspect the negotiations dragged out with Mourinho and certain people where against Mourinho because he didn't want Giggsy around and wouldn't budge on that. I think Giggsy will have been told that at the same time as LVG, that was the case. At the meeting at the lowery. The club maybe offered him a CLub Ambassador role or something.

Of course the young players say good things about giggsy. He is unprecedented as a player, when asked if he's good to have around they aren't going to say "Nah, waste of space, you can see him.....moping around with a gormless looking face on him" No going to happen is it!?

Cannot discuss his situation with Manchester United at the moment for various reasons

So sayeth the presenter on ITV who is sitting with Giggs

He doesn't want to. It's much easier to whisper things in Chris Wheeler and Rob Draper's ears.

Giggsy thinks England should promote from within for the Managers job....

:wenger:

He speaks pretty well, tbf. I agree with a lot of what he's said anyway.

He's pushing the agenda of the young coach being given the big job, understandably, but he has very definite ideas on the development of a side.

Yeah, I'm much more impressed than I expected to be regarding him, when they mentioned to United as his club, his eyes flickered a little though.

Had to laugh at him suggesting Ferguson even remotely wanting the England job.

True but I can never work out if his shifty eyes are darting all over the place while he speaks because he's trying to find the most shaggable female in his vicinity or if he's searching an empty head for the appropriate next word.

So he thinks England should appoint within and hire Southgate and have someone above like Ferguson, Van Gaal, Hoddle to take the pressure off (I think that's what he said)

He's not up to this punditry lark is he.

It's why I don't see much of a manager in him. It was the same on his documentary covering the 4 matches he managed for us. He's intense to the point of boredom. Speaks in a monotone and has very little insight. He's just not very articulate.

Same boring nonsense you hear from most pundits, "it wouldn't surprise me if ronaldo and lewandowski made the difference tonight" ok mate.

Bear in mind Rio and Neville sounded shite the first time they tried it... What exactly were you expecting anyway? Ffs...

And a 45 minute documentary following him inside the club as, you know, Manager.
Pretty silly to judge him on that too

Very few people are going to be natural with cameras following them around

The fact that so many of his ex team mates and managers speak so highly of him is a better way to judge...for me anyways

His mates put in a good word for him you say?

The blokes a fecking genius then, Lewandowski in the second minute!!!Quick, sack Mourinho and hire Giggs before we lose him.

Yeah. That's a good measure too. 4 weeks squeezed into 45 edited minutes.

You can brush off all you like, there's been plenty of things Giggs has said and done in the last 3 years which has lead to me having a negative opinion on him both as a person and as a potential manager. If we're not allowed to form our own opinions we should all just log out and read the news.

If you can form such steadfast opinions on such a poor source then knock yourself out. Don't be surprised if people call bullshit though.

Yep, defiantly agree with all that you said.

Have you watched the documentary? How anybody can watch that and think that this guy is ready for management I have no idea. He'd have trouble encouraging Kriss Akabusi.

Just seen him. Looking smart as always. That's all I can say based on the few seconds I saw him.
