I'd be amazed if he stayed on with the new set up as the potential new manager has a full set of coaches he'd want to bring with him. Such a shame because believe he loves the club and he could be the answer.
We just can't wait around to find out and we also have had a similar situation in the past so we just wouldn't take that risk again.
If he does leave I hope he gets a good job and maybe one day comes back to take up the role.

He was my favourite player growing up, I remember watching him on Eurosport’s weekly European highlights shows smashing them in for PSV praying we’d be interested in signing him, then hearing we’d got him , followed by failing the medical, breaking down in training on his return to PSV , I was totally gutted , loved his time when he eventually arrived, that was special seeing him on the sidelines tonight , love the man

I'd think they'll give him the option, since he was (if I remember correctly) an INEOS hire more than ETH wanting him. I'd be surprised if he stayed.

It's a slightly awkward situation now, because Amorim may not have the slightest interest in working with Ruud, but he'll be aware of Ruud's standing within the club and with the fans and may feel some sort of emotional obligation to keep him on!
We can't be sentimental about it, we need to fully back whatever Amorim wants to do and if that means jettisoning Ruud, so be it.

We backed fecking Moyes when he wanted to bin the staff that would have helped him transition and bring in the likes of Round. I’m sure sentiment won’t play a part here as well.

He’ll stay as interim get 4 games, then maybe be part of a handover team, and o have a feeling he might get the Nice Job due to his super professional conduct if he wants it of course?

I wondered when the last time was that we scored 5 against a Premier League team in any competition - had to go back over 3 years, August 2021 against Leeds.
I feel the same way, Ruud is a football man, there is no way he thought Erik would last his entire contractual term the way things were shaping up.
He had to have been okay with whatever happens to Erik when taking the job as he probably wants to be a part (in any capacity) of helping take the club back to where it should be.

Athletic today saying he was not an INEOS hire, his name was suggested by EtH's agent during talks about refreshing the setup over the summer.
I hope the club don’t force Ruud upon Amorim, any new manager should be given a clean slate in the coaching set. Absolutely brilliant if Amorim sees Ruud as a part of his staff but it must be on his terms.

There's every chance that Amorim will want to bring his own men in but those men might not necessarily want to come with him.
I also think people are assuming that the group he'll bring incudes an assistant. There's every chance Ruud stays with some new coaches arriving but not the complete overhaul that people seem to think.
You big softy, Ole was another shite United manager, but a lovely bloke and nothing about his spell in charge diminishes his standing as an absolute legend.
