Is he the handsomest man to take charge post Fergie. Looks dapper on the sidelines.
It's between Giggs, Jose, Carrick and him, and I think he wins it.
Take a bow son. Although we know Ruud is winning this.you’d come home from a hard day at your menial job. giggs doesn’t look you in the eye, he just asks what’s for tea, any love in his voice long disappeared. you want to leave, every inch of your being yearns for change, but you look at the children and you can’t do it to them.
you arrive home and jose is waiting for you. he tosses a chanel dress at you and tells you to get changed. you appear 20 minutes later, looking passable, he tells you you’re the special one as a stretch limo pulls up. he spends the rest of the evening talking about himself. you arrive back home after dinner, he asks you to lay down on the floor whilst he pulls himself off.
you arrive home to ole and all the housework is done. he asks you what you’d like for tea. you ask him to make a decision. he cannot, he is too keen to please you to risk getting it wrong. that pang of regret returns to your stomach, how you long for a bit of fire, an argument, anything to spice things up. why won’t he just rip your clothes off and roll over you like a steam train? it’s all foot rubs and easing himself in. you’re bored.
you arrive home to carrick and he’s barricaded himself in the study, sinking bottle after bottle of newcastle brown ale and singing songs about keegan and shearer. you ask him if he wants to go out for dinner, but he just grunts that he wants a chippy takeaway.
but ruud, you come home to him and dinner is on the table, he’s lit candles, he’s got the music just right. the food smells divine. he walks in with a plate in each arm, a suave smile painted on his face, he reaches out to place the dish in front of you, when keown appears suddenly and jumps all over him. you’re covered in ragu.
i’d prbably go jose on the balance of play.
The poor sods been given a thankless task, and he's proud to do it, fair play to the man he's doing it knowing he's probably out of a job next week..
I don't know, his public declarations about wanting to stay on and the immense good will toward him from the fans, as well as his significant knowledge of the club (and the current group of players) might be hard to dismiss by Amorim. I think he'll be offered a coaching role, but probably not assistant.
I was worried about this too. I give him credit for both results though. I doubt we would have gotten anything today otherwise. If our players were not so mentally drained maybe we would have won on another day. After today I'm glad we don't have him to the end of the season.
He's a legend and it's been nice but I'm not convinced he's cut out to be a top class manager.
Hope you’re right, though can’t imagine what type of role if he stays. The way he's been talking about his future with the club leads me to believe it's been communicated to him that he will have a role at least over the next couple of years.
We have always had at least 2 goal keeper coaches and still do.Yeah Amorim seems to be insisting on that but we got the GK coach after he had just joined his previous club. So we really pushed for him I'm sure the payoff for him might be significant. Some compromise might be needed on the GK coach front with Amorim.
I don’t really know what more he could have done today. We had zero options on the bench due to injuryAfter today I'm glad we don't have him to the end of the season.

So after taking on a squad he didn't assemble and only having been with the club for some months while being thrown in the deep unexpectedly and only two games (with one an emphatic win even) and that's all the proof you need Ruud cant be a top class manager? This place sometimes ...After today I'm glad we don't have him to the end of the season.

I also think him wearing such formal wear was strange. He used to wear a club tracksuit when ten Hag was in charge.Love Ruud but he seems to be talking a bit too much / big? Keeps talking about staying, getting to know Amorim etc I know he’s passionate about helping us but it feels like a bit much given he may not even be there for long.
There is a difference between being a coach and being a manager/head coach. He is probably of the belief that a head coach should present themselves in a certain way (which I tend to agree with). If he stays on as some sort of coach, I'd expect him to return to the tracksuit. I don't see the issue with this.I also think him wearing such formal wear was strange. Is he supposed to return to trackie bottoms after going full Bond villain?
I think he was auditioning for the role since ten Hag left, to be honest. He wants to present himself in the best way possible. There is a difference between being a coach and being a manager/head coach. Giggs, Carrick, Ole and Ragnick all suited up during their interim roles. Nothing more to it other than being the manager at the time.I think he was auditioning for the role since ten Hag left, to be honest. He wants to present himself in the best way possible.
Most of the time, an interim manager is a member of the coaching staff who has no real intention of managing beyond 2-3 games.
Ruud could have kept is more casual. I get it from his perspective though.
These two are different. They were brought in from the outside. I can understand their POV. They had ambitions of becoming the manager or DOF/manager.Giggs, Carrick, Ole and Ragnick all suited up during their interim roles. Nothing more to it other than being the manager at the time.
This is a weird line of criticism to me. He has known since he was asked to do this that he wouldn't be the permanent manager. Of course he wants to present himself in the best way possible, he is the prime representative of the club for two weeks. He is representing what he believes to be the values of the club, and dressing as such.I think he was auditioning for the role since ten Hag left, to be honest. He wants to present himself in the best way possible.
