Ruud van Nistelrooy | Leaves United

Give him a three year contract now - he clearly has the support of the dressing room and has put a functional midfield out. He'll let the quality of our players shine through in the United way

Barnsley aside, when was the last time we scored so many goals? I mean against PL or even Championship opposition?

Took him 5 seconds to realise Ugarte and Casemiro wouldn't be half bad.

He looks amazing tonight…can’t blame him for never leaving his technical area.

Enjoy every minute Ruud! x

Pleased for Ruud to get the experience of managing Man Utd to a healthy win at Old Trafford. Whatever happens from here he'll always be loved.

Very disappointed he didn’t give a chance to the academy players on the bench. 5-2 up at home with 30 minutes to go and he subs on veterans instead. Very weird but so be it.

Our defense was still shaky so he didn’t want to take a chance. It might be his only game so he wanted to win comfortably. Also he did give a chance to Wheatley.

Now hear me out, seeing as no manger has been successful here over a long period, how about we just cycle in and out ex United players who have their coaching badges for 4 games at a time? Ruud gets 4 games, Keane next, Rooney after that etc

Hopefully there's something signed with Amorim before someone on this club start thinking Ruud is the one.

Happy for him. Getting his moment. Hopefully he can have a decent managerial career.

I'm not even sure this is a bad idea. Genuinely

5 minutes is hardly a chance. He could have put on Wheatley sooner or Fletcher for Casemiro if he was afraid that subbing on Amass could cost us three goals.

Ruud had a good spell at psv, and a short positive stint here will do his ambitions no harm. Club legend, hope he has a good run until Amorim and gets some better interest than Burnley who wanted him in summer.

Wonder if he stays under Amorim, you could imagine they could work well together. The bearded duo

ETH's team got 7 in the EFL cup not long ago. Ruud's team only got 5.

Not good enough. Ruud out & ETH in.

Jesus Christ was ten Hag really that bad playing the same tactic every game, yes he was yes he was.

What the actual feck

He looks so good on the sideline. I bet we could get ten minutes out of him if needed. And erm, we’ve needed it.
After Ole I never want a United legend to manage the club, the crap I read online about him really was hard to take from my fellow United fans.
Did very well with his set up and certainly got the players to step up and perform. He did look like he belonged there on the touch line

The idiot in me thought I was hearing booing at the full time whistle, then the rarely rational part of me remembered that Ruud was managing this game and it was his "chant" ringing around the stadium tonight.

Great job in getting the team playing more freely and actually putting on a good show. Not going to buy into this being a long term option at all, but it's great to have a legend get the privilege of being called a Manchester United manager, however short it will be.
