Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

whats gonna happen to all the money? this could be like the end of yeltsins days and the rise of the oligarchs, all over again.

To be fair, I’d love to see that. A flock of Jaguar E-Types driving in formation, some Aston Martins DB7’s, a few of those amphibious white car things just emerging from the Black Sea and every driver is firing off horrific sexual innuendos and one liners.

A few of them might have that grenade pen thing too.

"As I understand, 00 agents have a very short life expectancy"

Can't believe people are trying to portray this as a good thing.

More war, more civilians at risk, more bloodshed, and if anything an elongation to the current war in respect that we now have a war within a war.

Best chance for the war to end, if armies are diverted from the battlefield. its too early to tell if there will be civilian bloodshed in Russia.

In my book it's a good thing if Russian terror and bloodshed is kept within Russia.

Right. My heart is breaking seeing how the aggressors turn their weapons against each other instead of combining their strength against Ukranian civilians.

If the war is taken to the lands of the aggressor, and the aggressors are infighting, how is that not positive?! I don’t give a shit about Russia - I want peace in Ukraine.

No matter how this ends, the last one year has destroyed Russia’s military reputation forever.

Either the current mafia regime gets removed or the barbaric Wagner group gets evaporated. Atleast that's the positive options.

It’s equally ironic and weird that at the beginning of the actual war, Putin repeatedly stated and drilled into the Russian public that he was going to war to fight neo-Nazis that were a danger to Russia…

And in the most incredible twist of fate, that is actually what’s now happening.

Bizarre.

People have to die so Russia can lose. You could have written the same about wwII reaching Berlin. It’s a good thing when looking at the bigger picture. That it’s still war and innocent people will die is a given. Sadly.

Yeah, because reports already of potential civilian injuries in Russia is great to hear.

Putin could try and smash wagner, but if it doesn't work he's finished, he could be out in the next 48hrs.
Perhaps a smarter play would be to reach out to them, welcome their convoy to moscow..fire some of the old generals in the defence ministry that Prighozin cant stand.. Have a nice banquet in the Kremlin with Prighozin, and some of the new generals that are minded to support him. Lots of speeches about One Russia etc.
Then lock the doors and gas them, then put a hundred bullet holes in each of them.

Don't think he can walk back from what he said today.

Breaking news: it's a war, people are going to suffer either way. Only now it's Russians attacking Russians, instead of Ukranians.

But the problem there is the battlefield is merely being moved,

The Ukrainian war won't end straight away, and if the Wagner group did gain power, or at least Putin lost power, there's no guarantee that the Ukrainian war would end, or troops be pulled out.

No, it's Ukrainians suffering at home

And now Russians suffering at home.

Great stuff. Two for the price of one.

They, Wagner, aren’t going to gain power. It’s a question of when and not if they are subdued. In the meantime, however, it might provide a bit more of a distraction for Ukraine to liberate its territory and – more importantly – its enslaved people.

Best case is Putin pulling the armies sufficiently that Ukraine commits fully and occupies back everything. After last 24h , the probability of that is not zero.
