Surely this cant end with them just displacing the military leadership, right?

Putin's authority has been challenged.. its either a full coup or Wagner gets crushed..

Either way it sounds decent to me.

They have taken control of one city in the southern parts of Russia, it's a very long road to Kremlin

When was Putin last seen?
Last thing I saw online, he was holding some meeting with his government over zoom. Looked like he was in his bunker as there was a distinct lack of natural light and he sat there speaking to the TV screen.

That was about 4/5 days ago.

Knowing Wagner, it might take about 20 years to get there and capture it, even if they try. But they won't be against the UA troops. So there is hope for them.

Of course.. Just wondering what Prigozhin wants here.

He is apparently unhappy with the military leadership, but surely he cant expect this to end with just a leadership change..

It's all or nothing.

He delivered a televised address wishing the Russian people happy Youth Day last night.

Thanks.. Surprising he hasnt spoken yet..

They don't need to capture Moscow. They may be holding a city next to Donetsk. Can be a huge problem for the Russian military trying to hold off Ukraine's offensive. Would also be embarrassing for the military if it couldn't defeat them quickly. If this continues, there may be powerful people going over to Prigozhin's side.

There are other alternatives, too. Rule an independent Rostov People's Republic. Or try to capture some nukes. Or who knows what else.

Rubio tweeted a lot of Nat Sec stuff previously when the war broke out. US intel community likely watching this in pure amazement.

My guess is that he's hoping for the lower rank commanders to join him and get the military on his side through them.
