Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

I am also a bit sussed by this Sushko chap. Has he said anything of value before?

He either has some amazing sources, he is making a lot of assumptions, or he is just making things up.

Just did a quick search on his current twitter and it seems like for all the questionable tweets, he is good for providing English translations of Russia sources and he posts some pretty good footage, whether it is his own or stolen, I'm not sure.

He's probably reposting what he's getting off telegram. Hard to say though.

Where is this guy getting his information?

Likely pulling it all out of his arse. From what I remember from about a year ago, actual Russia experts were warning against his credibility, just another Twitter grifter, the Seth Abramson of the Ukraine war.

(edit): come to think of it I may have Kamil Galeev in mind for the above.

This just sounds completely insane, I mean surely Prigozhin doesn't believe he can just conquer Moscow? But I find it hard to believe Prigozhin would survive anything short of toppling Putin.

The guy is probably at his ends wit at this point after a year of being bogged down in a war of attrition in places like Bakhmut, while not getting the support he wants because of his beef with Shoygu. At some stage this was always going to reach a boiling point.

I wonder does “stab in the back” have those connotations in Russia given Prighozin’s supposed Jewish heritage? Remember a while back Girkin insinuating something along those lines.

I wonder if this has anything to do with the US senate trying to invoke a NATO response if nuclear fallout fell into NATO countries? Possibility that Prigozhin was briefed on a suicide plan to blow up the nuclear plant and thinks he's got nothing left?

I'm draw a long bow here. But we go from the US hinting about nuclear weapon strikes or Russia blowing up a nuclear plant to potential Russian civil war in mere hours?

Wonder if they have some short range SAM like Buk or Pantsir, or manpads. Otherwise would be pretty naive assumption nothing would get scrambled against them.

They should be better armed than the Russian army given their better / more hardened experience fighting in Syria and other places.

It is worth noting that Rostov-on-Don is 1000km from Moscow.

It's not like a staging point to march on the capital.

when you create a country based on "nothing being the truth"....everything is lies and truth at the same time. They are stunned into paralysis.

I doubt the MoD can even grasp if this is real or not.

He's a known bullshiter, American citizen with Ukrainian roots but most of his tweets a pure BS.

Yeah but it wouldn't matter if he's Ukrainian in the US or not. He could be doing the same thing most of these guys are, which is pulling from telegram channels in near real time.

The problem is that he seems to be reposting whatever he reads on Telegram. Telegram just like Twitter is 99% bullshit.

That's where most of the action is in terms of near real time reports from people on the ground. Unfortunately, this situation is moving to fluidly for us to wait for tweets with written articles behind them, so most of the info is going to come from Russian social media.

Obviously twitter is heavily going to self-censor to show certain things in the "info war". But this is what I mean about being stunned into paralysis. It's always been a game. Truth are lies and lies are truth. When someone stops playing the game, how do you formulate a response?
