Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

If nothing else happens, this is still a massive embarrassment for Putin and further undermines his disastrous campaign in Ukraine.

I'll echo what was said a few posts back - I hope Ukraine can take full advantage of this chaos.

What's the end game here? Surely its certain death... unless he believes he can actually displace Putin..

Attacking the Russian army surely means there is no going back now..
The cynic in me says that I'm not sure that things are what they seem.

All of this can't be good for Russian military efforts on the ground in Ukraine. Hopefully the Ukrainians can exploit the chaos and reclaim a sizeable chunk of land.

If Prighozin really wanted to torpedo Shoigu once his scrotum-looking head gets ventilated, he would turn over all his intel and information to the Ukrainians. Setting Shoigu up for failure would be one way to hopefully lead to his demise even after inevitably Prigozhin dies.

But they have basically declared war on the Russia military. How do they de-escalate the current situation to avoid outright battle and then continue underground to the point where they can slowly ferment a coup from within Moscow and still not either get exposed or have to fight the military/security forces?

Unless this is political theater (doubtful), I think Prigohzin is going to end up getting arrested and or killed very soon. Unless of course his cartoon rebellion manages to gain traction.

Now we will find out how loyal his Wagners really are. They are not soldiers, but mercenaries. And even if Wagner's inner circle follows Prigozhin, it doesn't mean that the soldiers are ready for a suicide mission. They care only about the money.
The Russian intelligence will try to hunt him down as fast as possible and if he's not completely naive, he should have expected and prepared for it.

I find it hard to believe Putin would allow for Wagner to become a threat to him personally. Most experts seemed to have indicated Putin used Wagner as a convenient tool when needed but would always prioritize the MoD.

Feel like if they can’t find/stop Prigozhin very quickly we’ll see this snowball into something huge. Much of what we hear about Russia is about the average civilian outside of the big metropolitan areas getting treated poorly, not getting paid well and not living to a high standard and those are the areas who have sent the most soldiers, recipe for a lot of RA support to grow behind Wagner.
