Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

I'm leaning towards the theory that all this is orchestrated by Prighozin himself. I just can't see how the Russian MOD would do something like this now when they are in the middle of the Ukrainian counter offensive. The only winners from this will be Ukraine.
 
If anything this call for a coup...if we can even call it that ...is perfect for someone like Putin to impose martial law type measures on his own population. I think the only winner here is Putin but maybe I've become too much of a conspiracy theorist when it comes to Russia.
 
If Prigozhin staged all this himself, I wonder where his 20k troops are...

I am not saying hold it for a long time. Just give them enough time for that to actually happen. Prigozhin talks a lot. It is hard to expect he would do something for real. And he said Wagner will be back to fight the UA troops again in those videos.
 
Where exactly are Wagner's troops anyway? And how many of them? It is not a staged thing at this point(?). But looking from the outside, it is just a strange thing to plan and carry out.

Wagner group videos I've unfortunately seen of them killing people with sledgehammers, as much as I want this done, they replace Putin via a coup, it might be even worse.

Yeah, but there’s no way this isn’t a net positive for Ukraine if it’s true. Every Russian soldier killing another Russian soldier is a blessing.
 
What's the end game here? Surely its certain death... unless he believes he can actually displace Putin..

Attacking the Russian army surely means there is no going back now..

The best scenario would be for them to fight to death and weaken the country so that they can't do much damage to others.
 
All of this can't be good for Russian military efforts on the ground in Ukraine. Hopefully the Ukrainians can exploit the chaos and reclaim a sizeable chunk of land.

Yes, they're some proper nasty bastards from what I've seen. Putin is a cnut, but I think I'd rather even he had the nuke button than Wagner.

I think they have yet to do that in the field, at least not to a significant extent. I think Wagner will stand down, and their chief will run or get arrested.
