Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

Yes it looks that way. Putin is running out of ideas maybe.
Moving nukes to Belarus is likely a move to keep Lukashenko in line instead of being directly related to the war. Lukashenko (correctly) said in an interview, that no country that has access to nukes has ever been attacked by another state (which is a beautiful statement as it contradicts the Russian "we had to defend us" rhetoric). It is well possible that he wanted the nukes as a kind of security guarantee in these difficult times.

"Putin rebuts key elements of African peace plan for Ukraine."

June 17 (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday gave African leaders seeking to mediate in the war in Ukraine a list of reasons why he believed many of their proposals were misguided, pouring cold water on a plan already largely dismissed by Kyiv.

The African leaders were seeking agreement on a series of "confidence building measures", even as Kyiv last week began a counteroffensive to push back Russian forces from the swathes of southern and eastern Ukraine that they occupy.

Thank you for the information.

Speaking of Lukashenko, he was reportedly very sick awhile ago. Looks like he is walking around again.

Good, as this would be the absolute worst time for him to die since Putin would probably just walk right in and officially claim it as Russia.

It is pretty grim to think that this guy being alive is the best thing for that country at this moment. I was thinking evil people lived long.

But if Putin really thinks it is necessary to eliminate him to take the country, he won't live long though.

True, but considering that Lukashenko is pretty good at keeping Belarus out of trouble and is focusing on peaceful talk about the current situation, he is indeed a good option, just looking at foreign affairs. Doesn't change that he is a dictator though.

Is that not still a pretty significant number?
It's not a simple question to answer, I guess. It could be crucial because the UA forces have yet to reach their first line (assuming one exists). But it won't matter much if some of them can be replenished quickly enough.

Also, people can't forget that the UA troops need to have a lot of them in hand even if they take the trenches for bracing the RA counterattacks right now and in the future. It is not like they can use all of them for this counterattack, gain some territories back, and they don't have to worry about the war anymore.

So there is an absolutely insane trench clip on r/combatfootage, for those interested...not sharing here.

Yeh that trench footage is wild. Seemed to be SOF clearing it before the infantry came up.

Watched it this morning, that bloke who gets shot nearer the end, who glances to his right as he goes round the corner, sheeesh. Insane footage, I can't imagine being as brave as those Ukranians in that trench.

The Western kit is going to be right at the front of the attack so after a couple of weeks 10% is not bad i guess. Sounds like MBT wise they've only lost a handful of Leopards and no Challengers.

And PTSD coming with it.

I bet something like this happened all the time now in the South, and Bakhmut in the past.

Not sure Challengers have been involved yet, at least haven't seen any report showing they have.
