Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

That's exactly the vibe I'm getting, I don't think they expect Ukraine to last long anyway despite all this talk about Ukraine having a vastly improved army now. Don't forget, a few months ago we also heard a lot about how the US built a good army in Afghanistan which can show real resistance against Taliban when US leaves, only to discover the next day what they secretly knew all along.

False equivalency but ok.

the cheek of the guy. friendly relations with dugin and LDPR, criticising soviet nationalities policies and making it the basis of his grievance, and then says he's doing de-nazification.

Yep. Can anybody imagine Harold Wilson (PM between 1964 and 1970) declaring that British troops were sent into Northern Ireland because the Troubles has been deliberately brewed by the Republic of Ireland, that Lloyd George and all PMs between George and Wilson were pussies, that Ireland has been part of the empire for centuries, and that troops will get rid of Catholic forces still bent on destroying Anglicanism? Feck, Wilson would have been ripped to shreds by the entire world and probably thrown into an asylum if he said those parts. Point is that Putin has gone insane and senile just like Leonid Brezhnev was in his later life.

I don't know what the Russian law says about removing an incapacitated leader, but plenty of people in Moscow need to start thinking about it. This is pure insanity.

What a horribly organised attack. For the sake of ego

Noted anti-fascist, Vladimir Putin.

I assume he just says these things to amuse himself. It's that Milo Edwards tweet that keeps getting shared recently.

Ukrainian UN ambassador: Putting all bullshit aside, can you stop the war or not?

Many other cities seem to have been bombed now, including Kherson, Odessa and a few others. Looks like air defenses and ammunition depots have been the main targets so far.
