Russian invasion of Ukraine | Fewer tweets, more discussion

NATO navies will have to go through the Bosphorous and enter the Black Sea north of Istanbul soon. Seriously, that deterrent should have been used ages ago.

They probably didn't feel the need to do so as NATO controls the Bosphorus. Considering the Black Sea is a congested area, putting assets in there could just increase the risk of confrontation with Russian naval forces so seems like more trouble than it is worth, especially as NATO has already said it won't send troops into Ukraine.

First video I thought it was just thunder. But man, that latest one in the thread :(

Its 2022, I dont get it.

Putin telling Ukraine to lay down their arms. He’s giving Ukrainian military an option to go back to their families - they won’t be hurt.

Basically what I thought, so far. Putin is asking Ukraine to give up the areas they control in Donbas and indicating that it will stop there.

Ukraine faces two choices now, comply and kick the ball back in Putin's court, or resist and give Putin a reason to advance further.

The choice is not as easy as some might think.
How can he be calling for Ukraine to give up Donbas when he's said he wants demilitarisation of Ukraine? Sounds like he wants the whole country.

I deleted my post because of that exact statement, so I'm not sure now I can interpret his statements correctly (I don't speak Russian). His other statement suggested that the operations would be confined to Donbass at the request op DNR and LNR.
