Sky sports a few days ago: Ruben Amorim is ready to manage top clubs like Manchester City in the Premier League.

Sky sports today : It's a very big step for Ruben Amorim to manage in the Premier League. He is still inexperienced.

Not one game and the media are ready to attack the new Man United manager.

I like him and hope he will be good for us, but I am also a bit cautious.

What has he done more than Ten Hag before he joined us? He won two championships in a smaller league, Ten Hag won three. He did alright in Europe, Ten Hag made the CL semi final. Ten Hag failed miserably at United.

Nobody knows if it will work or not, that's life unfortunately. But as you stated ethl was supposed to be good but clearly wasn't. Doesn't mean Rube Rube Rube won't be good. Nobody is a dead cert.

Impressed at how quick we got this done. No fecking about waiting until the summer to "assess our options".

They've desperately been running a campaign for Thomas Frank to be our next manager for the past day and a half. Bunch of cretins.

Bunch of asses.

Well that's that then. Nice and swift. Looking forward to starting a new era with our first head coach

City not being interested seems to make sense. Sounds like it is quite a passive and counter attacking style when not facing poor teams in Portuguese league. Would suit out players a lot better.
Yeah. Seems similar to someone like Arteta from what I’ve read.

is it confirmed? I want to be the 1st in my group chat to break the news to the lads.

Rebuild Number 7. Hipster Manager: Second Attempt. Not who I would have gone for, but I’m also not too familiar with him, so let’s see how this goes. Seems to be highly rated, but so was Ten Hag. The sales pitch sounds familiar, so to speak. I won’t be holding my breath after the last 12 years, however. He has his job cut out for him and I don’t envy the task. Positive job by INEOS to get it done quickly.

It's pretty obvious this was all pre-planned for the likely scenario that ETH would get sacked. I wonder how long ago he said yes?

And round and round we go. It's a simple click bait formula that works.

Shame he'll have exactly one full-back available to him considering they're essential to his system. It'll be a rocky start but I think he's an exciting long-term choice.

Obviously there are similarities, but that's fine. Some managers will be able to take the step up, some won't. It's almost impossible to know until they get that chance.

In saying that, I guess some differences are that ETH was at by far the strongest club in his league, and basically just modified a very long-standing playstyle that all their players are used to to make it more effective. Amorim was at the 3rd strongest club in his league who hadn't won for the title in 20 years, and I think has played a bigger part in building their playstyle (although I could definitely be wrong in that, if anyone is more knowledgeable?). ETh was also in his 50's, whereas Amorim is still only 39.

I would not be surprised if we see a winger there if he ends up going for wing backs. Maybe even a trial for Antony there at some point.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, our new structure moves quickly, as we've seen with our summer transfers. I know feck all about Amorim, but I have faith in our new leadership, as I’ve mentioned repeatedly since their arrival. It's clear he's their top choice, given how swiftly they acted to secure him.

Good luck to him—he’ll need every bit of it. From dealing with the press to questionable referee decisions and the injury proneness within the squad, he's in for a wild ride. As we've already seen with those Sky articles, any mention of United will come with a negative spin. Just yesterday, the Telegraph ran a negative piece about Ruud, and he was barely in the interim role for two minutes! I hope Amorim is ready for the relentless scrutiny that’s sure to come his way.
