Anyone calling for his head?
Let us know who, not what, you'd like to replace him with.

Hand on heart, have you read what Amorim said or just reacted to the headline? Because it is strange to me you would think someone who said this...
...Has an 'ego problem'.

Yeah and they are brutal get rid of them7 of those you list were signed by ten Hag in the last 3 years.
Has anybody mentioned that we spent a lot of yesterdays game in different variations of 4atb? Or we still banging on about the system, his stubbornness etc?

I saw the video. Rooney said what he said. Amorim said yeah it’s easy when your a pundit, I’ve been one too, and looked annoyed, then went on to say the rest.Hand on heart, have you read what Amorim said or just reacted to the headline? Has been for many games but last two we've been seeing more of midfielders dropping into the back line in possession.
Its actually appalling we've has to do this and shows how little confidence we have.
So it’s either Amorim or Southgate. Right..Most are. I think it's time to bring in Sir Gareth and give the fans what they want. A boring, mundane, defensive system that gets the best out of these players. Solidify us in 8th - 4th for the next 10 years and keep everyone happy.

His annoyance in reply to a logical statement suggests an ego problem to me.
Onana was an ETH signing and Amorim inherited him. Same with Eriksen, mount and Casmiro, they don't count as "multiple managers" as they only have known two. The rest sure, but lindelof barely plays and is leaving. Shaw permanently injured, mount too. Evans returned after several years away from the club.Lindelof
Casemiro
Eriksen
Dalot
Bruno
Maguire
Onana
All been here for multiple years multiple managers - 4 of them have been regular starters this season and 2 of them regular subs all played yesterday
Not including
Shaw
Anthony
Martinez
Mount
Evans
There is still a massive purge to be done out of all of those players only Bruno is worth keeping, maybe Martinez.
That’s 12 players listed out of squad of about 24 players
Not the point though. You said players have been ‘failing for years’ and that simply isn’t true anymore. Ten Hag saw off most of the old squad in his two and a half seasons.Yeah and they are brutal get rid of them
2 panic signings Eriksen and casemiro
1 that never should have been sanctioned in Mount
They have to go. Just because ten hag signed them doesn’t mean they don’t need to be shipped out
The worst also have ego issues.I hope he has a huge ego. The best always do.
So Amorim is amongst the best mangers now? I can understand Mourinho having and ego.I hope he has a huge ego. The best always do.
So it’s either Amorim or Southgate. Right..
So Amorim is amongst the best mangers now? I can understand Mourinho having and ego.
The ego is only good if the coach is actually good. When Fergie or Pep have massive egos, nobody bats an eyelid. With Ten Hag or De Boer however...I hope he has a huge ego. The best always do.
So ten Hag was no good because he was perceived to have no personality, but Amorim who is a very engaging and honest personality has an ego problem? His annoyance in reply to a logical statement suggests an ego problem to me.
Yes. Otherwise we are fecked.Don't know, hard to judge how good he is. Hopefully he is though, since he's our coach. You agree?

Agreed. Let's get behind the guy until something changes or he turns the corner as he did in his previous jobs, when his teams went up levels.Yes. Otherwise we are fecked.
I think Bruno has dropped at times, but to me it's obvious why. But off the ball we've gone more aggressive, man to man and had defenders pressing 20-30 yards higher up the pitch.
I'll tell you now, and this should be bloody obvious to anyone really, but this system is struggling because of the lack of quality in attack. We squander dangerous positions every few minutes with loose passing etc.
If you got told that Amorim was taking over when he did, and he would be without Rashford, Antony, Amad, Mount, Shaw, Mainoo, Martinez, and would only sign one LWB in january, I would love to have seen the reaction at the time. People were talking about relegation under ETH towards the end, and I think people would have been putting money on it if they knew what Amorim had to work with. Yet now they're still expecting him to try to have his system thriving with these conditions.
He is open to some criticism but I feel like people have completely lost their fecking heads now.
We all knew the deal when we hired him. You bring in Amorim, you bring in his idea. What would be stupid, would be to to bring in Amorim, bring in his idea, then not allow the opportunity for that idea to be realised.Yes we have. He’s not making do because he’s being completely inflexible. A manager who doesn’t change under any circumstance isn’t a good manager. It’s pure hubris.
Maybe he's just as frustrated as us with the dross he's seeing...I saw the video. Rooney said what he said. Amorim said yeah it’s easy when your a pundit, I’ve been one too, and looked annoyed, then went on to say the rest.

Does anyone here even think Rooney was unreasonable in what he said? He clearly wasn't, but Amorim will take any bait the press throw at him. All he has to do is say "that's his opinion" instead he has to brag about being the United Manager at 40. Pretty sure McGuinness was in his late 30s when he became manager, so it's not even that big of an achievement in terms of age. When you have nothing to brag about but "I got here at the age of 40" that's really nothing more than a cope.
Very well said. I would have thought this was obvious when he was hired.Of course he gets the summer. He gets a full preseason. He gets multiple players who fit his system and idea like a glove. Then and only then, do we draw conclusions.
Well he's partly why it's dross, perhaps he ought to look in the mirror? If Ruud could get them playing OK against Leicester and Chelsea, why can't he get them to play ok against even worse sides?Maybe he's just as frustrated as us with the dross he's seeing...
And then gets annoyed when Rooney asks, given he drove Plymouth into the ground as manager, the same Plymouth that knocked Liverpool out the cup might I add!
Do you know how people with only 1 idea are called? We all knew the deal when we hired him. You bring in Amorim, you bring in his idea. What would be stupid, would be to to bring in Amorim, bring in his idea, then not allow the opportunity for that idea to be realised.

We've literally had younger managers, I just gave one. In terms of age, he's not the first. He won't be the last.come on
I'm actually very optimistic that we will sign players who have the correct characteristics/profiles. Amorim knows what his system demands and what he's currently lacking in terms of making it function. The main difference from previous windows is that in the past, we signed players because we felt that they were good. Under Amorim, everything should be a lot more specific. That specificity should make identifying players easier. This is one of the major issues with the idea that Amorim needs to be given 1 or more transfer windows before he can be fairly judged. The argument assumes that the transfer windows will be very good. Usually it's an implicit assumption, but in this post it's stated outright: the new players will "fit like a glove."
There is nothing in United's track record over the last decade to suggest that they will make multiple signings that fit like a glove. What's most likely is that the summer transfer window ranges from 'inadequate' to 'passable.' So what then?
I’ve heard this one before. Pregnant!Do you know how people with only 1 idea are called?
Not the point though. You said players have been ‘failing for years’ and that simply isn’t true anymore. Ten Hag saw off most of the old squad in his two and a half seasons.
Get Big Gazza Southgate in.He’s been an absolute disaster of an appointment.
He’s taken a bad team and made it far worse.
Think that would suit the owners down to the ground, money coming in from European football. Think the fans would get up pretty quickly though. Most are. I think it's time to bring in Sir Gareth and give the fans what they want. A boring, mundane, defensive system that gets the best out of these players. Agreed. It's why I'm staggered by the lack of patience on here. It shouldn't need me to point out the obvious. Fans like to call for patience, but when push comes to shove, they haven't got any. It's embarrassing.I would have thought this was obvious when he was hired.
Rooney said this:What happened between him and Rooney? A brief summarise please, anyone?
"I do think he'll get [time]. It's not a free hit because I think you'd expect a bit more from Manchester United than what we're seeing since he's been in," Rooney said as a pundit on BBC Sport.
"It's very difficult to come in during the season and not have the pre-season to implement his plans with the team. He has to look to the future moving forward and how can they firstly - he says win the Premier League - compete to get a bit further up the table, I think that's the next step for them.
"I think it's a little bit naive to say 'we're looking to win the Premier League' because, from where they are now, they're a long way off that."
"No, that is the goal. Being naive is to think that we are going to [win the title] this season or we are going to be the best contender for the next season.
"I know that in this moment everybody knows everything. I know that it is really easy. I was a pundit when I finished my career. I know it is really easy.
"Our goal is to win the Premier League. Maybe it is not with me but our goal as a club, the board, is winning the Premier League like we did in the past with all the great glories and the legends of this club.
"We want to do better and we know that we are in a difficult moment. I am not naive. That is why I am here coaching Manchester United at 40 years old."
