Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

The fact this guy will only ever play one formation tells you how out of depth he is. It's amature, like sunday league football.

I'm just not willing to judge him when these are the players he has at his disposal. You have Maguire acting like a donkey dropping 10 yards off his man because he's too slow, when your manager is trying to implement a high pressing system. You have a midfield with absolutely zero mobility, a right wing back who can't deliver a cross in a system which relies on its wing backs as its main outlet. And a striker who can't hold the ball up or position himself correctly.

It's the players, and it always has been. Onana, Maguire, Dalot, Casemiro, Zirkzee, Hojlund. That's half of your starting lineup, and these are all players that wouldn't get into this Everton team. And that's a team that are 12th in the table, not fighting for Europe.

He should either resign or get the sack. Cannot see this being turned around. Something is absolutely rotten at the club and no matter who comes, it does not go away.
He can't work with this team and we don't have the money for a rebuilt.

This entire formation hinges upon forwards being effective. Neither Zirkzee nor Hojlund are that.

I will not be surprised with Chido comes on for the second half.

I don’t get the argument for giving Amorim a free pass because he inherited a mess. If he’s good enough, he should have been able to make at least some improvements by now. Moyes (who we know isn’t United level) took over a relegation battle from Dyche and is guiding Everton to comfortable mid-table.

I have absolutely ZERO sympathy for him, his tactics clearly do not work in this league with these players yet he’s painted himself into a corner.
Any manager worth his salt plays the best way for the team and changes once he believes he has the tools to do that.

Sadly this is the case. He now has the cjoice between losing face and changing things up or ploughing on and waiting for the inevitable.

For all the stick ten hag gets. I’d have put my house on us collecting more points than Amorin had he stayed and that says everything you need to say. The job of a new manager (no matter the circumstances) is to improve what you have to rally the team, he’s completely failed in his only objective.

Has he always been so blindingly honest in press conferences and interviews? Since day one I have had this little feeling that he is pushing the club to sack him, or at least doesn't care. He didn't want to come until the summer but took it because it is Manchester United. Fair enough, but is there a world where he came in and realized how bad it really is and thought, I made a mistake? We keep talking about the club making the mistake, but it seems Amorim did too. I don't think he is a bad manager and will have success in his career. I hope it is with United.

Easily the worst we've played consistently since SAF. The team play without any confidence, skill or basic abilities. We know they are shite, but not outplayed by every team, every week shite. He need to go and there is no disputing this.

When you have a shite squad simple tactics under a manager who the players like is the way to go. Lets hold off on hiring hipster coaches with fancy systems until the playing personnel is much better than it currently is.

It's been true all season. Onana, Slabhead and Hojlund vs Pickford, Tarkowksi and Beto? No contest.
This same lot were flirting with relegation. They have just gotten a new manager bounce and a manager who has set them up to play to their strengths.

No way is their team better than us. Their strike force is better but this is no longer a case of us missing chances. It’s a case of the entire team crumbling. That is purely on the manager.

Don’t get me wrong, this team is not CL spots level, but they are not as bad as they are showing currently. The manager has just made us worse somehow and us blindly backing another manager will just worsen this rot.

It is amazing that there are people who watch us week in week out that believe us to be a top 6 team. There has been much talk about formations and tactics but any formation/tactic will look incompetent if the players are unable to score goals. Our biggest problem is that we have somehow managed to assemble the worst bunch of attackers in the history of our club.

Looking at the non-penalty expected goal per 90 (NpxG90) understat data for this EPL season looks for grim readings:

TLDR: Our attack is relegation level.

Sorry but no. This group of players are capable of more. We're losing to teams with way worse squads. He's failing to get the best out of them

As I have said previously, it is no surprise that we are where we are. Our attacking players are relegation level.

Amazing how this manager has made us look like Derby County 2007/08 in such a short space of time.

I honestly don’t give a shit what happens anymore as I’ve well and truly given up

He is nothing but words it seems. Seriously looking like another fraud.

Same shite most games, never changes anything even when it's obvious that every team is crapping all over his 'system'.

I'm sad, actually thought they had a chance today after a full weeks training.

This is such tiers below the worst of the Ten Hag days it's quite worrying.
As is the continual reduction of standards.

If we keep this trajectory and finish 16th, what happens next? We accept an inevitable relegation as we need to start from the bottom up, and then before you know it, midtable championship is the level?

If he gets the sack, I’m done with this team.

Got multiple managers sacked.

No one else is fixing this shit, what’s the point when the players are crap

Zirkzee and Hojlund take so long to do anything. We wonder why we can’t score. Would be surprised if either of these two score again for United.
