Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

He still gets until the end of next season no matter what for me

We have to give managers a proper chance or will be in this cycle for another decade.

He needs a pre season, hopefully 4/5 signings and things might improve next season
Amorin said it himself, you buy time with results. In this business you don’t survive these results. What gives you hope that he will turn this around?

It's starting to become pretty difficult to run with the idea that he should be given a free pass until the summer, as I have maintained up until this point. I mean we're getting worse, and we were already pretty dire to begin with. I don't really see how this level of performance is sustainable for any United manager

Forget united, it's not sustainable for any PL manager! We're getting worse game by game. He's simply not good enough

I like the guy and he’s a great coach as it’s clear from his time in Portugal at Sporing. He’s has been absolutely fecking seen off by INEOS’s ineptitude, however, whilst saying all that, I think he’s probably going to get fired sooner rather than later. Sorry situation all around.

I'm not sure what to say.

Ultimately, I don't think its his fault.

You take a club that is in tatters from top to bottom and mediocre players with no confidence, and you bring in a manager with a drastically different style and way of playing. It was the most idiotic thing imaginable and I don't blame him for that.

And I also understand that he wanted to come in the summer. I have a lot of empathy for him, but I don't know if he can improve things from here. I think the damage to his reputation within the club might be irrepairable.

I don't know. And what manager on earth would be mad enough to join us now? You would have to hate yourself.

Gotta go sadly. With a functioning team I’m sure he’ll be great but we don’t have that. We just need an interim to get us out of the shit and set us out hard to beat.

This is on Ineos. Right manager, wrong time
Would he ever be the right manager? For us to look this inept in every department, I can only conclude he's a Championship level coach at best.

Ange is obviously a great coach as it's clear from his time in another league too.

Put this clown on gardening leave and get Ruud back in for the rest of the season once he's sacked by Leicester.

While ETH has to take a large slice of responsibility for where we currently find ourselves along with the club who allowed him to continue for over a year after he got sacked.

But it has to be said Amorim should be getting more out of these players. You can't just do the same things week after week that aren't working and expect a different end result. He simply has to try something else because he can't say he needs/wants a squad rebuild. These are largely the players he'll have to work with next season, it's ok to be an idealogue and stick to a philosophy if things are going ok. But if it's this bad he might just have to accept his formation/system won't work with these players in this league.

Love the guy, but this is ridiculous. He has no clue and since he lack all form experience he can’t try something else. Because he has never played anything else.

We need an experienced manager that can get the mood back and give all this young players an arm around the shoulder. Not a young hot shot trying to prove his point.

I’ve said I don’t rate him particularly highly and while his time at sporting was impressive, the context will remain that it was in Portugal so you couldn’t make any direct claims about his suitability for a higher level job. I couldn’t tell you the last manager to win the Primera before Amorim. I doubt any former Primera winner is currently in the premier league - even if they were they probably are managing a wolves level team.

All of that to say while our lot is rotten and we need a massive overhaul. The belief that he’s the magical one that some people currently have needs to adjust to reality. There’s no certainty that we won’t remain equally poor if we signed a bunch of his players.

No manager turns around this kind of form, going into the summer bordering or actually in a relegation battle was never on the cards when he was hired.

What was his plan to win this game putting out a team like that? I'd be interested in hearing it because I genuinely do not think he had any interest in winning this match.

Guys we're on course under ineos. They said they want to win the league by 2028 but they didn't specifically say it was the Premier league did they?

We’re about to lose our 9th match in 13 games. Irrespective of replacements or history, that as a baseline statistic just cannot run as a manager of Manchester United. You can add all the caveats you want, a manager cannot be underperforming at such a substantial level

Get me one then who comes in and turns this around..

Shambles, slow zombie passing and movement, we piss about with the ball for about 20 seconds and don’t make it past the halfway line before losing it, then within 5 seconds Everton create a chance.

Not only are the tactics none existent, I can't even see any signs of a plan or improvement anywhere in the team.

The players haven't improved their physical or technical levels so the training isnt having any effect in matches. The players are always second to the ball, lose all the physical contests both in strength, speed and agility.
Honestly the longer this goes on and with the lack of financial backing, this team is without question heading for relegation if not this season then next. It's a matter of when, not if.

Yeah, no. This is tatters. It wasn't great before, but this is comfortably worse.

If anything, without the points under ETH we're getting relegated.
