Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

That’s what makes them good coaches. If a manager has to have their own 11 players to realize their vision, I’m not sure that’s even coaching.
So Guardiola is not a good coach by this logic, he required his own players, Tixi came into city a year or so before and did work on buying his type of players. Even after that it took him a few £100m's to get his defence profile right.

His team has fell off a cliff and guess what, he is buying himself out of it.

This squad is mediocre and let's not kid ourselves, McTominay saved us many times last season, this season Amad is doing the same, we can't keep relying on individual brilliance to save us.

We clearly have a bad squad, in my opinion Collyer played better in our last match, than Ugarte today, and helped control the midfield better, if Ugarte continues erratically like today we need to start Collyer ahead of him.

Ruben made some mistakes today but that does not excuse the level of the squad. It's rubbish.

Just realised why we're persisting with Dalot and Mazraoui in the wingback positions even though they lack the traits for a successful attacking wing back in this system.

It's set pieces. We're still shite at them but if they weren't on the pitch, we'd be very overloaded since Martinez is undersized for a centreback and Ugarte and Bruno aren't ideal either.

Hojlund and Zirkzee are big enough to help but not the best at tracking runners as you'd expect.

I see half the forum has already turned on the new manager. Didn’t take long.

All it took was our worst start under a new manager ever.
A manager averaging a point a game, absolute relegation shite and a bloke who looks like he’d cream in his pants if he could play 10 defenders and a keeper.

Hopefully he’ll get another signing or two in now so we can judge if he can have potential here or if he’s just a bit crap.

It can't be easy on his ego, going from being a big fish in a little pond to a minnow in an ocean.

He's probably regretting having left Sporting now.

It's pretty clear that this isn't going to work out and to be honest I don't want to see us invest what little funds we have to bring in players that fit the profile of his lost-cause system, only to have to start yet another rebuild a year or two from now when we've languished as a mid-table club for two or three seasons.

If I'm SJR I'm trying to figure out who's next up from now.

It’s great we’ve alienated Casemiro then.

I put Martinez injury on system as he had to cover lot of gaps leaving by Dalot + our midfield losing the ball again and again.

I hope its not a serious injury, I like Lisandro and he is one of the key to the way coach wants to play.

“Pretty clear”

He’ll be gone by the summer. I’d be astounded if a replacement is not being discussed already.

Attacker not really looking likely now, is it? I guess we hope Dorgu brings a bit of balance and we limp through the rest of the season before a couple of key signings and a few weeks of intensive work over the Summer gets us on track?

Mate, logic and common sense is against the rules.

I'm not 100% against Ruben but I am 100% against the cult of the manager bollocks that has infected the minds of most reds. It's that attitude that is one of the reasons why we've failed as a club throughout our history when it goes bad. ETH did wake up some people, but not enough.

Wait? Aren't you one of the ardent Ole fans? The kind of cult you speak of.

Stop deflecting. It's bad no matter how you try to spin it. Ole couldn't help 2020 being what it was.
I’m not having a serious conversation about the manager. He’s been here two seconds and has inherited an awful squad. None of it is his fault. These players are proving incapable of playing any kind of big boy play. That’s on them.

They’ve got him a wing back now & I think he’ll get 1-2 more, then he’ll really start getting judged by Ineos.
If he doesn’t improve massively, no chance is he getting this mythical 2 years rebuild nonsense fans are piping on about.

What makes you think we won't sign one?

We got beat by a 3-4-3 today, the formation isn't the problem.

A manager who came in and changed from a 4-3-3.

Think there are some internationals in June, so it will depend how that impacts on our players and when they return to training. You get sick of not having full squads going on tour.

He got it wrong today with dropping the strikers. Mainoo is a good player but he’s not a centre forward, weird after praising him as a 10 midweek.
He has to do a lot to convince us, but good God Ten Hag left this squad in a mess, he’s set us back years. I can’t remember us never having at least one good striker in my lifetime.

How am I moving the goalposts by demonstrating that two managers this season can't keep us in the top half of the table. It only proves my point that the squad isn't good enough.
You're not demonstrating anything, the previous coach was within 7 points of top 4, and the current coach has doubled this gap.

So they won't at least give him summer window before judging properly

He should be doing better than this absolute horror show we are witnessing. Ya time and better players etc. But there is zero progress, zero patterns and zero hope currently.

You can't be this bad at home even if you are trying a complete system and character overhaul.

We are a laughing stock, bottom feeding club.

Amorim has to win a cup at this point. It's getting ridiculous.

How can you watch football for so long and not know this? His remit is to build a team. Not patch results together. If that’s what you want then go watch reruns of previous seasons.
There are only so many games you can lose at home without even scoring. At some point it becomes humiliating.

Only if he resigns. As for considering a replacement, they'd be stupid if they didn't. They have to cover all possible eventualities.
So we go back to 4231 which was also shite and the new manager also gets the sack.

It’s the players. Sick of posters blaming the manager in here.
