There’s a huge amount of dross he’s going to need to clear out before he gets anywhere close to success. Our whole midfield & attack needs completely gutting and starting again.

Roy Keane making the point that is a very average group of players and Amorim will need a longer contract to sort this out and make Utd competitive again.
Maybe a radical system change is needed because it's going to take a lot to sort this attack out.

Barely any of our players have a high footballing IQ, so if he has us resembling his tactics and functioning well of sorts, I'll be happy.

I've seen this point a lot, but I don't think I'm quite ready to buy it.
To me it's a group of players that's had no coaching or direction for 2 years and who regularly look like they've never met each other before. They're individually better than the collective looks right now.
There are some players who I don't see having a future here, but the majority I feel like with the right guidance, and with a manager who can give them some confidence, they can do significantly more.
Biggest issue for me is going to be if Amorim can actually make us a team that looks after the ball. I really don't know how much of that is a mentality issue and how much of it is players simply lacking the skills needed.
Came to say this. If I never see our wingers invert again and miss the goal it'll be too soon.

16.8 the expected goals stat for United this season in the Premier League and have only scored 9 goals in ten games. A big issue in the team that won't be easy to fix under Amorim.
I think under a better system,these shite players will look a lot better.
Let's hope the new head coach gets it right.

The squad is clearly lacking in quality and will need plenty of new additions. But we are also very poorly coached and organised by ETH both with and without the ball.
There is plenty of scope for improvement with some improved coaching, organisation and motivation. Not going to turn into world beaters but can be improved from what we are currently seeing.

The average level of composure & finishing of the squad is so bad.. It's gonna be a work to better that!
That's dreadful. How does he make it better without funds in January (that probably won't be available)? Best hope is that a few of the forwards really click into gear because it's going to be a really frustrating season if this keeps up.

If we can get most of the injured players back then the sqaud isn't as bad as some pundits keep saying it is assuming Amorim can get them going.

Our finishing, composer, decision making, it’s all painfully bad. It’s going to be fascinating to see how he turns this around.

We've really messed up on leaving it till now to bring him in. Maybe there were good reasons or whatever, but the situation right now isn't looking good. Even if it was Pep coming in, I'd be worried.

I don’t really follow this. Surely it’s obvious he’s got work to do. That’s why we’ve brought him in?
People will need to be patient but he’ll lift confidence immediately and he’s got a lot of young players who are coachable, along with some good youth talent in other groups.
The impatient people will rant as it won’t be a straight climb without blips . Expectations are all over the place here currently though.
I don't see what's hard to follow? You've basically made the same point in a different way. We're coachable, but probably no quick fixes like at other teams due to what they've been coached to do for 2 years. It goes against what most progressive coaches want to play.
Agreed. I’d have Mount and Bruno behind the ST. When mounts not fit have Amad play there.
The decision to not bring him in during the summer is more baffling every day
- Ten Hag was coming off a very poor end to the season in the league
- We wouldn't have had to pay the huge pay off amount
- You would imagine Amorim was gettable if he's willing to join so early into the season
- We could have gone for players in the summer who suited Amorim's style of play
- He would have had time to try and coach the team in that style
