Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

Sadly, it’s the same sort of stubbornness as ten Hag showed. ETH had no clue, plan b or tactics, it seems that Ruben has one tactic, no plan b and his tactics aren’t very good against footballing giants of Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The word patience has suffering as a root meaning. How hard can it be to just keep still for a while and let the man work?
So many posters are so fecking confused, it is mind boggling.
I bet they voted to keep Ten Hag after 18 months of obvious and nauseating deterioration and head-scratchingly nonsensical tactics, because we won a final, but they lose their shit after 2 months of Amorim because we aresing a few games.
Who is being impatient?

how did you not understand that point?
'more average players' referring to what we already have. Amorim will just dip into the network he is familiar with and buy 'more average players'.

This club isn't going to get better players than the likes of Fernandes, Ugarte, de ligt and Martinez (they are not average. If a manager can't get something out of these type of players, he will never be good enough and the excuse of 'i need to sign players who fit into my system' is just cope.

I've got no doubt Amorim is just another failure..and there's nothing unsophisticared in admitting it.
Unsophisticated or not, it’s moronic knee-jerking on your part, aligned with speculative nonsense that Amorim will resort to his network of players for future transfers (based on what?) Grow up.

It would have been interesting to have seen how Ruud would have fared if he continued until the end of the season. Whilst the football in his short spell wasn't amazing (when is it?), he played to the squads strengths, i.e. 4231, mid block, counter, etc.

With Amorim, whilst I like what he's doing, and strongly believe it will come good, due to such a drastic change in system and style of play, it would have been much more suitable for both parties for him to come in during the summer. That way, he would have had the chance to sign the players suited to his system, in addition to having the whole of pre season to work on it.

With that being said, I guess the earlier Amorim has the chance to find out who's good enough and who's not, the better. He did say the storm will come and feck me, it hasn't half.

I don't get all this "His system". Any deployed style or system should suit the player profiles in your squad.

Managers who only play with one formation and never adapt won't go far

It's Ten Hags team though, Amorim needs time as he's making do with players that either can't play his system or haven't had enough time to work as he wants.

Again, he needs to be given time to recover the team from the damage done under ETH. By the end of the season, it’s the time to re-evaluate the situation. Be patient. I feel he can steady the ship soon.

The system is fine.

Keeper mistakes, conceding from set pieces, giving away penalty / red cards and missing chances aren't the system.

Today's game was the first game where "the system" struggled.

The fact ETH signed two useless goalkeepers was always going to be a problem. Our defence could majestic, but we would still concede goals if your goalie loves throwing them in the net. He needs to look at where the system has worked in games and pick those personel in those positions and stick to it.

If my calculations are correct, Amorim won 1 game more, so he must be better.
Leaving that aside, I was thinking about which players, look decent in the new system and I really can't think of anybody expect maybe Maz, Ugarte and De Ligt. So 3 players out of...all who played in the last 10 games.

Don't be silly. It's objectively kneejerk to entirely give up on a new manager within 1.5 months, after he got in from a great stint at another club and inherited a deeply flawed team at United. As much as you can have doubts forming, there is no way giving up on Amorim at this point in time is a reasonable stance.

Various posters are already suggesting Amorim should be sacked, or otherwise have given up on him already.
I can’t believe the amount of people calling for him to be sacked. It’s obvious why he wanted to come in at the end of the season. The cancerous locker room was coming to a head before he got here and now he’s dealing with that, player quality, and everything else. He’s the right fit but the players at his disposal are abysmal

It's Ten Hags team though, Amorim needs time as he's making do with players that either can't play his system or haven't had enough time to work as he wants.

Wolves is O'Neill's team, Vitor Pereira is barely a week into the job and just beat a team Amorim has been on for a month.

Is not asking for the moon to think Manchester United should be in a place to win today.

Still, I think anyone knows at this point it doesn't matter what coach you bring in, the problem is rooted at the club and only a 180º turn will fix it.

Ipswich too but it was his first game. I missed the Bournemouth game so cant comment there. Forrest had individual errors I suppose? I actually forgot how the game went apart from Onanas howler.

It seems many people will be quite happy with "defend deep and let Bruno square it to Rashy on the break" football.

No, no. Don't care what happens, manager should stick to the football he wants. Players are being found out and I'm all here for it.
Let it burn, this group of footballers are going nowhere and they don't deserve to "play their strenghts".

Full support for Amorim.
Yep, it’s very simple. If you want real change you keep pushing for it.

It’s still dawning on people that the period of Mou through to Ole’s last day was the most damaging waste of time the club could ever have done. Just dead time.

The new manager isn't a miracle worker and hasn't been able to get a tune out of this bang average squad inside 2 months?

(The main difference of course though is that he isn't to blame for buying most of them.)

I like him and he will be the man to remove the toxicity from the dressing room. I am in favor of moving Rashford and Shaw one. Shaw is always hurt and Rashford has lost a step or just doesnt care to sprint.
Mount is somebody I want to get behind, but injuries are taking that feeling away. Another 1 -2 and I would move him out as well.
Rubin is a great manager but he is working with Ole's, ETH, Jose and Van Gaal players .... hard to do what you want, when you have 4 different stylings of players in the mix.

Various posters are already suggesting Amorim should be sacked, or otherwise have given up on him already.
Don't they realise we will just have exactly the same problems with a new manager. They will pick a system and there will be certain players who cannot operate in it. This is why we are in such a mess. Different managers, different styles, different players. Just let him build a team. We have too many players who are mentally fragile, physically fragile, technically fragile.

Oh my goodness. You cannot be serious.

Tell me where I’m wrong then. Enlighten me because that tonight was as bad, if not worse than any of the bad served up by ETH. We could be there now in a totally empty Molineux with no opposition and I would still back Wolves to win.

Good luck finding patience in the online supporter base. A thing of the past.

We were doing well, you could see progress in our style of play but the games against Bournemouth and wolves were terrible and it seems we've gone backwards. No signs of the early progress we showed, players reverting to their usual shitness. I watched Amorims post match interview and he said there is no time to train, just recovery and get ready for the next game. This pattern will carry on until we get some breathing room with the games. More misery and suffering awaits us cafetards. The next international break can't come soon enough!

Think people are forgetting this. The club forced his hand to take the job early. They have hamstrung him.

No matter the system these players are not good enough.

If we had a capable striker we would be in far better position with just that alone. We create plenty of chances but striker quality is mid table at best

My only hope is that with new managers, we usually start brilliantly and then things start to implode.

Now, we get the imploding out of the way and hopefully things are up from then on.

Very last question. Wow, fair play. He's definitely making a statement and maybe Rashford will be bit of a scapegoat but someday we will have to address it, which it seems to be nonow.

Let him be a scapegoat, to be honest. United are his childhood club, in complete disarray, desperate for someone to step up when they're needed the most, and he's briefing about how he wants to leave.
