Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

It's also very very unlikely that we can have yet another rebuild. The money isnt there and Amorim was hired to change the team and tactics. He's got to adapt to the demands of the league and try and get a tune out of these players whether he likes it or not. He might get one or two in but ultimately he's got to change the style and fitness as well as keep the team competitive.
If we weren't going to support this Head Coach with proper recruitment in the mercato, we should not have appointed him in the first place. IMO.

Clubs with much smaller revenue streams, like Liverpool and Arsenal (borderline Top 10 in terms of annual revenues when the “project” began) managed to overhaul these caliber of Starting XIs for Klopp and Arteta...

Wilshere—Aubameyang—Özil
Monreal—Xhaka—Ramsey—Bellerín
Koscielny—Mustafi—Chambers
Ospina

Sturridge
Coutinho—Firmino—Milner
Can—Henderson
Morena—Sakho—Leiva—Clyne
Mignolet

Amorim can't be expected to succeed if he isn't similarly backed and adequately supported by the technical team and the ownership.

Even a club like Bayer Leverkusen signed Grimaldo, Boniface, Xhaka, Hofmann, Tella (and brought in Stanisic on loan from Bayern Munich) during Alonso's first summer window.

Starting To actually have some concern we may actually flirt with a relegation fight this season.

Hate to say it but we probably would be better off having given ruud the caretaker role until the end of the season and lived off the good vibes.

It's weird how our players seem responsive when ex players are managing us from carrick to ole to ruud, or maybe it's these ex players that truly understand the beast that man united?
 we’re miles away from the bottom 3. Do shut up.

As interim, they are fine. Personally, i would have given Ruud until the end of the season and signed Amorim for the summer. To give him time to implement the system. Now the pressure is on from the start.

I don’t think Amorim is under any pressure given that he inherited a squad in 14th, so as long as we remain within spitting distance of top 4 (we are only 8 points off if we lose today) then there should be no complaints given the unprecedented circumstances under how he arrived mid season with new tactics and formations.

There shouldn't be much pressure put on him. No reasonable person expects us to get top 4, and everyone knows half the players are shit and not suited to his system. Next season is when we should expect to see some real progress and when he should be judged

Top 4 is gone.

It's going to be bumpy. This season is pretty much a cup season.

Amorim is under relatively little pressure this season. And bringing him in now gives him more time to implement the system before the start of next season.

For his own sake I hope he prioritizes replacing Bruno in January or summer at worst, otherwise he’s a toast. He seems a smart guy.

I'm fully behind him. But the system he is trying to implement doesn't suit the players we have, they all look uncomfortable. He is welcome to continue down this path but it will cost us a lot of points and probably result in a 13th place finish.

Bruno shouldn't have come off today and you need to change the record. You're across how many threads saying the same thing?

He's already made it clear there needs to be short term pain for long term gain. That means persisting with his system despite having many players unsuited to it. I'm totally in favour of that. This season is a write off anyway

Not even close. There are 24 fixtures to go, so anything can happen, especially with City in decline and Spurs currently in 11th.
City is not in decline. It was a temporary blip. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and City will seal top 4.

It's gone I'd say. You have to win these games. Ipswich too., far too many dropped points now.

Subs today were terrible, why is Bruno coming off?
Mainoo has ran out of gas, would have preferred Erikssen or Cas

Compared to last season they most certainly are. They’ve probably not looked this shaky since Pep took over.

You really think this team can beat city to top 4 over the course of a season  I've heard a lot of takes, this one is crazy

top 4 is sealed, we are NOT good enough to get a string of results

Definitely a couple of steps back for him today. Plenty of work to be done with this mix and match squad full of useless cnuts.

Too early to start sack watch? These players will throw him under the bus as well

Why are you inventing things that weren’t said ?

Doubt he’s up to this. Need to wait 10+ years for a potential couple of genius players to come through by way of probability.

“Within spitting distance”. Doom and gloom bed wetting with 24 games to go is pointless.

We have to go on a run to have any chance of getting close to top 4. Right now the only run we're capable of is losing games

I actually feel sorry for him. So many braindead or just not good enough players in this team..

But I 100% believe we would've been better off so far this season if we actually got him in this summer, instead of keeping ETH, but that's just hypothetical now.

Another coach that apparently needs a whole new set of players to show his skills. Wonder if by "it get's worse before it gets better" he meant relegation. Still way too soon to judge obviously, but the praise has also been way over the top.

This guy thinks he's got a squad of players to chose from?

Play your best players mate, and even they will let you down

So who you thinking we pipping for top 4 from city, Arsenal, liverpool, chelsea?

Let's put it this way. I don't eliminate the possibility that Amorim's tactics will soon settle in and the squad will go on a run. At that point, literally anything is possible especially with a 60% of fixtures still to play.

Or if we’d just kept Ruud on and brought him in next summer.
