Ruben Amorim - Manchester United Head Coach

I think when you allow Ed Sheeran to crash a post match interview its a circus.

It's similar to Salt Bae at the World Cup final trying to pose with the trophy.

Coaching staff are the only ones that should be allowed on the field post match.
Yeah it was quite unprofessional from Sky.

Fair enough, but I honestly see him much better centrally and Garnacho wide. Garnacho pretty much went wide every time he got the ball anyway.
If Garnacho played wing back we will concede so many goals. He barely has the discipline to play offense and track back. He cannot be trusted with a wing back role. That would be a stupid decision from Ruben.

I think he learned a huge amount today about this team. And all his coaches seemed to be deep in thought.

I think we did keep the ball better, and that was one of his goals. Biggest issue is the speed in which we move the ball into the final third. By the time we have passed it side to side, the opposition have already got 11 men behind the ball. You can’t score goals like that.

I think he was pretty disappointed in Erikson and Casemiro not laying a glove on anyone in midfield. This improved when Ugarte came on. And thank god for Mazraoui. Someone who seems to put in an 8 out of 10 every game. The amount of times he won the ball back, when everyone else was ducking out of tackles.

From today’s subs, I think he will hook players and try and give the others a go when it isn’t working. This is what proper coaches do. They don’t have favourites. Or keep trying something that isn’t working, they will adapt and try something else.

Looking at his demeanour during the game, he did look rather pissed off. I think he will give some of those players some feedback.

Sounded fed up already

He is probably just angry that the players stopped doing what he told them to do and just reverted to Ten Hag ball with silly long balls and aimless passing.

He wont be happy about tbe complete lack of urgency the players showed in stoppage time when we needed a goal, it was like the players gave up and just resorted to playing short pointless passes between each other.

I think the starting eleven today, especially within the context of the matchday squad and who was away on international break, and then the substitutions too, betray the fact that Amorim is very unfamiliar with the squad and has probably watched the vast majority of these players very little in recent years.

I reckon if he could replay this match ten times, you would end up with a very different team within the same system. I’m very surprised at who he thought some of the solutions in particular positions were today, both in terms of who started where and who then came on to supposedly change the game. I don’t think he will repeat some of those decisions again.

It could have gone worse, but it wasn’t at all good today.

Why does he need to do all these interviews anyway? What was the point of speaking to Neville? We're shite, hovering above relegation zone and this club thinks his time is better spent speaking to the very people desperate to see him fail. Annoying he has to point out how ridiculous this is.

I think it was expected in his first week. Way too much hype and everyone wanting to know more about him. I’m sure it will reduce dramatically going forward.

Could see in the last few minutes him urging the team to go forward, all the while they were passing around defence. Ten Hag’s horrendous ‘tactics’ really got a lot to answer for.
I don't think it's about old tactics, it has more to do with the fitness level of our players or the lack of fitness. The majority of our players lack the stamina to compete at the highest levels and it becomes more evident towards the end of the games. Today most of our players where out of gas by the 80th minute despite being outrunned by Ipswich for the whole game.
This has been a problem for a long time and it's something that will take a long time to fix.

Let's give the players a couple more training sessions to pick up the positioning Hargreaves you rat
Eh? I like Hargreaves, he's usually spot on. I do anticipate a lot of players falling out of Amorim's favours.

We saw that Amorim is not afraid to change things if players aren't performing, given he made his subs pretty early. The issue is the players he will replace the starters with are also not good enough. So what does he do then, use the youth players? If that happens he may well be screwed, because they are likely not ready.

It's definitely a tricky situation. I really hope the players aren't as bad as they seem.

I watched some his post-match interviews and press conference. You can tell he's deflated with the result but he talks a lot of sense and you can already see he has a good grasp of some our players' strengths and weaknesses and what needs to change for us to improve.

He spoke about Mazraoui's intelligence and how he'll be an important part of the team for the future. I don't want to get too drawn into the new manager hype but it's a refreshing change from Ten Hag whose assessments of the matches were out of touch with reality and didn't seem to have any understanding of his squad or how to get more out of it. I think he's got a good chance.

Imagine already being fed up doing too many interviews and then Ed Sheeran fecking crashes one.

Hope he'll show a more pragmatic side in Europe as it's probably our only chance for European football next season while sticking to his guns in the league.

For his first game with us I’ll give him a 6.5/10

We finally seem to have a defined play style but lack the players or quality to execute it.

Some of the players were also in questionable positions but I suppose this is something they’ll have to get used to.

Mazraoui has had his best games for us as a full back.

Amad is not a wingback.

Rashford is not a striker (or anything else for that matter).

Playing two ageing veterans in central midfield was tantamount to suicide.

Will certainly be interesting to see how he gets on this season and how the players respond to him.

There is a lot of talk about wing backs here.

Aren't all modern fullbacks wingbacks ?

Doesn't it just mean going forward ?

He said that Evans should have pushed up to press in midfield a lot more.
That Bruno was better when he dropped deeper but that he is always looking for the long ball from there & we can‘t always play long balls.
And that Zirkzee was supposed to push up to be a second number 9 but didn‘t

For all of Sky’s faults, it’s clear that nobody expected or wanted Ed Sheeran there. Not sure how they’re getting stick for that
