the guy is crazy hands-on - it helps that he's young and relatively recently retired and in good shape, so he can get involved and keep up with the lads

I wouldn't read too much into it for now. There's plenty of other youth team players in that training video from earlier. Probably was one of the guys available for that LCB/LB position in the 'opposing team'.
That high intensity shuttle run back every time possession is lost is a great drill. This is a side who have needed to learn to respect keeping possession for a long time now, while impressing on lads that their first instinct after losing the ball is to bust a gut to get back is sorely needed too.
I’m with you. I think he plays. RA seems the sort that will play any player who is available. I wouldn’t be shocked to see Shaw or Mainoo
start either tbh.
He been treated with kid-gloves since his second surgery and has come through an u21’s game. He will feature at some point even if he comes off the bench
The switches of play, the first time cut back goal finishes and then the 4+ times where Amorim blew his whistle where the ball was around the opposition penalty box to imitate a ball loss to get the guys to run back and get into shape. Are these the so called mythical red caf patterns of play? I could almost cry.
Even more detailed video starting around the 2 minute mark. Yoro, Shaw and Malacia look fit to start. This whole week of training should be good hopefully.

One thing that's clear is he's getting these players to be much sharper in the defensive transition. As soon as they lose the ball in that drill, they have to reset and sprint back.

The training video was more interesting than I expected it to be, he looks like a good communicator for sure.
But the United lads love a clean slate, let’s hope they give Amorim’s tactics longer than the 45 mins they gave Rangnick’s before deciding it wasn’t for them.

That's the least of my concerns with that set up!
Why are Bruno and Amad at CB? Case and Dalot No.10s?? And is Hojlund upfront or in Goal?

If you look at it side on then a back 3 of Martinez deLigt and Casemiro makes more sense, but Onana and Hojlund on the flanks is an interesting call and Ugarte in goal isn’t why we signed him!My guess is he screwed up the formatting of his post
